I am working on having the pc games handled like that without the need for a .bat file. I will have another tab in the configuration for pc games, and then they will all be gathered in a PC Games group on the main screen.

For closing emus with the remote, an AutoHotKey script + some batch file(s) might do the trick? I'm not that good at creating scripts but I know there are scripts that will do this.

Say your emu of choice is quit with the escape key, you could start the emu with a batch file that launches
a) an autohotkey that remaps the "green button" on the remote to the appropriate "end key"
b) and the emulator
c) sets conditions so when the "green button" is pressed it checks for/sets focus to the emulator ( a list of possible window names could be listed thus enabling support for many emulators in one .ahk script and send the appropriate "end key" (MAME for example only accept direct input, not remapped keys, so here you'll have to rely on a "close window" kind of action

It's unlikely that more than one emu will be run at one time, so this should not cause any conflicts.

i'm thinking C) makes A) and B) not needed. i havent used autohotkey but could you not just launch emulators the normal way without a batch file, then when you press the "green button" you could have it launch a script like you said that checks window names and if it finds an emulator it closes it with the correct buttons. thats if autohotkey can send key presses, then you could just have 'if then' statements or whatever like if epsxe.exe is open then send key 'esc'. i use the program MacroMaker a lot and have a lot of stuff set up with that so maybe that could do it too. (i also use Xpadder to remap all my remote/controller buttons, and sometimes i make key combos in Xpadder be the shortcuts that launch macros with MacroMaker, so maybe thats why you said start it with a batch file, cuz maybe if you mapped the remote in mediaportal it wouldnt support things like launching a script)

I have not tried this with the emu I'm currently using (FB Alpha) since it closes with "Esc" and my MCE remote sends this when I press "Clear".
