Country: | Hi all, AMC Updater v0.7 has now been released in Beta form. This is a pretty major release comprising several hard-to-implement user requests, along with Zebons and Titof joining in to add some big new features. We've made a whole load of major changes to the code and to the options available, and Titof has created a way to have AMCUpdater perform Internet lookups automatically. A GUI application to customise and tweak the Internet lookup configuration files is also on the way. This is labelled as Beta due to the significant changes and should be treated with due caution - back up your live data before testing! Detailed release notes and user guides will follow as soon as I have time. Major Changes: Revamped GUI Better logging options Supports scanning multiple folders Control over which Ant fields are populated Full manual database query / update option Support for storing filenames only or full paths (with override path support) Better multi-part file handling Oh, and it's quite a bit faster too! Supported Internet Lookup Sites: Allocine Cinemotion IMDB Known Bugs: Override Path not fully functional Date Field not properly populated The binaries are available on the AMCUpdater SourceForge page at SourceForge.net: AMC Updater Feedback will be of course be much appreciated! Cheers, OrionHall |

| This is great news - I am german user also ;-) Zebons, I have one more question: If the Description-Field is populated from ofdb - will it be possible to search it via the skin/myfilmsplugin? Thanks for the good work for the community! |

I don't know exactjy how it'll be added surely on the detail screen to update one particular movie but it'd be also interesting to populate globally the database on the main screen... Be patient ![]()

Country: | Thanks very much, very impressive utility! Just wondering - is it possible to import from files only, and not include the internet look-up function? It would be nice to be able to have that option and then use the amc scripts for the internet look-ups. Thanks again. Ben |

In batch mode, if the filename isn't excatly rhe movie title, the grabber cann't find the right movie. Of course in interactive mode, we can change the title for searching. To optimize the batch function, it'd be usefull to have the possibility to create a file with the correspondance between filename and movie title. For Amcupdater, if the entry exists in that file will launch the searcj on the movie title instead of filename. Of course, if no file, same as now. That file'd be prepared by Amcupdater by creating a file for not found movie at each run with filename. So users'd add in that file the corresponding movie title... To be added to the Todo list ? Country: |
Yes, don't give the parser xml file and select the option 'Import if internet lookup fails'... but it was already done in previous versions....
when I don't specify the parser xml file I get the error message "Missing File: The Parser Configuration File". Is there any way around this? |

thanks for the reply - just to avoid misunderstanding; I was not talking about using search for the population of the fields itself, but the possibility of searching for keywords after the population is already done. Today, I can search for actors and filmnames - I would very much appreciate, if there would be a 3rd possibility to search the "Description" for keywords. Should not be too difficult, because you alreday implemented the functionality for 2 other fields, thus probably only some additional lines of code? Or is it already possible and only a question of using this by the skin? Thanks again for this great work, Guzzi .... and of course it would also be great to update and populate the fields from within the skin - but you're right, this is much more work to be done ...
