Default Episode update fu**up agian! :-/ [False alarm! Fixed lol]

So.

I have this episode, Future Weapons S03E08. It's getting parsed. It's recognized by the import (it finds an episode wich isn't in the db). It add's it, but no episodetitle/name and/or episodeinformation is showing up.

I've tried with "Download Episode information for the whole series" turned both on and off, but with no success.

edit; Okay, FALSE ALARM. Remind me to always check Thetvdb.com before whining here! The episode was so fresh that it wasn't added on the site. lol.

Regarding this, I asked you on MSN, Inker, but you didn't reply.

Would it be possible to add some kind of warning/pop-up message alerting you if you try to add an episode that doesn't exist on thetvdb.com yet? So you don't start troubleshooting everything from top to bottom, and after a long time, you find out that it's not yet added to thetvdb.com...

I would think that it should NOT do this (I get these all the time), but instead take the trailing characters after the season/ep as the episode name (Looks like that is probably what it did). Any just aired episode is going to suffer from this to a certain extent as not all networks release their episode names / schedule ahead of time.

As a community, I would think that it would be better to regularly visit thetvdb.com and be proactive in updating "your" shows. That way you can check what is already there, fill in some blanks, add some new series if they are not there etc. We all look after each other.

Warning/pop-up message was just an example. I would agree that it could be more annoying then of use if you have many episodes not added to thetvdb.com. What if all episodes/seasons/series that is not availibe at thetvdb.com is coloured red in the series/details-pane? (or any other colour that is - the point is to give the user a hint that it's missing on thetvdb.com)

The hint is missing information, the only way that can happen (apart from a bug) is if the info is not there on thetvdb.com. Everything else, like it automatching to a wrong series or something is indistingishable from it from a code point-of-view (or else it would match correctly in teh first place).

I don't understand your poing jocke...

Okay, let me try again :-)

If you take a look at the screen below;

Click the image to open in full size.

Here you see that episode 8 is added, and parsed correctly as Future Weapons S03E08. And as you said, you can see that it's not getting information somehow from thetvdb, since it still named "tvrip xvid", instead of "Israel Special 2" (wich is the real episode name).

The thing I would want, is that the colour of the text "3x8 - tvrip xvid" would be red, to indicate that there's no availibe data on thetvdb.com for that spesific episode...

So, let's say that Future Weapons S03E07 and S03E08 is not added at all @ thetvdb.com, but I've imported them, and they've been added to the database. Then it would look like the pic below;

This way it's easy for me to understand that I've gotta go to thetvdb.com and add it, thus avoiding people to panic, and post threads that they're having trouble (like I did *whistles*).
