Country: | Hi, I'm a new user to Mediaportal and also the TVSeries plugin. I have my complete series ripped from original dvd's to iso files on my hard disk. I managed to create a little application which will fill the TVSeries database with all the series and episodes and also a link to the iso files. The TVSeries plugin does then update the info from the internet, download banners and shows the episodes. But the plugin is not able to start the iso. The default movies section in media portal does this without any problems. Also another plugin, but more for movies, MyFilms, handles iso files also correctly. I would think that all plugins use the same basic functionality for basic functions like, playing a file. How come that the TVSeries plugin is not able to open iso files? Can't TVSeries reuse the code which is used by MediaPortal? Kind Regards, |

Country: | Does it mount the iso in daemon tools? Not got round to checking any of this out, but a friend and I where chatting about support for series DVD the other day and came up with this...... Part 1: If you where to name each of the DVD iso's indicating which episodes it contained, somthing like this Battlestar Galactica (2003) - 3x01-02 - Occupation (Part 1) Precipice (Part 2).iso then the regex could pick that up and create the series info points in the db the same as it does for double episoded. At the moment we only have regex written to support double episodes, but this could be extened; or we could have a special use case for .iso type, maybe you just specify the first-last epiosde numbers and the plugin fills in the rest. So that would get all the info into the db Part 2: Add support for mounting and playing the DVD, if that is not there already then it should be pretty simple as like you say the movies part of MP supports it and that is what this plugin is using. Part 3: extend the schema on theTVdb.com to allow the recording of disc info to mark where on the disc the episode is so that it be auto played using the resume function and passing it a chapter number of somthing. This bit needs some thught as there will be multiple different discs for the same series (say oone for each country it is sold) and each disc might have a different structure, run time, episode order, etc... So some sort of 1 to many relationship is needed between an episode and a dsc on tehtvdb.com and we need some method for the user to pick the disc they want to use with their db. ......or maybe it is not as complicated as I am making it and all discs world wide for a particular show all use the same format, chapters, etc.... ![]() What do people think? |

Country: | This thread doesn't really have a clear answer to the original question, and I've got the same one. Does the TVSeries plugin mount and play ISOs? I know Daemon and MP are configured correctly, since the ISOs in My Videos work fine, but when I have an ISO file used in TV Series it doesn't mount. Is this correct behavior, or did I miss a configuration setting? If ISOs don't work, I'll turn them into VOBs instead - no big deal. Thanks- Milhouse |

Country: | Firstly, thanks to Inker and ZeFlash for producing such a great plugin. Secondly, I'm having the same issue as the OP and Milhouse: I'd ripped some of my TV Series DVDs to ISOs (separate file per episode - not sure this is the best way, but it seemed to make sense to me ), and although the ISOs are picked up and parsed by the plugin's database scan and display correctly, whenever I try to play them, the ISO doesn't mount and Media Portal generates an error stating "no combination of filters could be found to render the stream". I'm assuming that this is because the player can't actually read the ISO.Same as Milhouse, I know Daemon (Tools Lite) and Media Portal are configured ok as ISOs in My Videos work (they are automatically mounted and then play correctly in KM Player). I could rip and convert the TV Series DVDs to avi's using something like AutoGK, but I'd much rather just rip them as an ISO as it takes so long to convert. Is there any way the plugin could check the file extension and if it is an ISO, mount it, in a similar way to the My Videos section of Media Portal? Thanks. |

| Could someone here be so generous to write me an expression? I`m new to parsing expressions, and therefor need help getting MP - TVSeries to find my iso files (if thats possible?) The directory is following: F:/TV shows/Friends/Season 1/Episode 1 - 8/VIDEO_TS/all the containing files. I have no problems editing the directories if that makes it easier, nor changing from video_ts folder to .iso EDIT: It seems I have postet in the wrong forum. I`m going to post this ind the "Expressions / Rules requests" Last edited by MrHaugland; 2008-07-27 at 16:18. |
