after vimmense time and effort i finally installed mediaportal however it is questioning if my graphics card is appropiate for my system and therefore crasheswithout even completeing the configuration process my graphic is fine never had any problems befpre if i uninstall will i lose any files also when i checked my dell media direct which i usually use all the folders ie music were empty so portal obviously transferred them to itself media direct is instant in response so i know there is adequate profficiency in my graphic card all i get from portal is initialising direct x and everything grinds to a halt can anyone assist please

Do you have a DX9 graphics card with at least 128mb of memory !!

hard drive is 80 gig graphick is direct x nov 2007 intalled by dell

^ That does not help at all. Could you please find a link or something that gives the HW specifications of your DELL? My guess is that it is to weak.

im puzzled because my media direct prog built in by dell works fine its a portal just the same only reason i wanted media portal was for the search facility
