Country: | Just changed over from using MCE 2005 to MP RC1, and while it works on the most part, I still have one outstanding issue which I hope someone can help me with. My system is a little different to the norm, as I have a SPDIF cable from my PC to a MoodLab Dac, which then feeds into a NAC Pre/Power amp. So I have no ability to decode AC-3 streams over SPDIF. Now when I play music or most films (divx or mkvs) they all play fine, but when I play a movie (a dvd copied to my server) with AC-3 sound all I get from the speakers is a horrid static like sound. This I think is the pure digital sound from the PC, which isn't ideal! ![]() In MCE it all worked fine, and in WMP 11 it too works fine, so I know the system works...when I look at a dvd's vob file in Graph Edit it seems to be ok, going to FFDSHow then out to my SPDIF. In MP I have said use SPDIF as the Audio Renderer, and the Codec to FFDSHow in the Movie section (I haven't touched the DVD section as I don't play DVDs in that machine (which section is used for playing DVD stored in a folder?) Any ideas on where I am going wrong? Thanks for your help, Nigel. |
