Default Media Porta 0.2.3 and Hauppauge 150

Hi there,

I´m using MP for sometime now. and to be honest i like it very much. I´m an intensive user that wants to have an all in one application to do it all

until now i used it for play music, play dvds, divx, mkv, flacs and so on.
Yesterday i´ve installed an hauppauge PVR-150 and the problems started...
If i use the hauppauge software i can detect channels and play quite well. if i configure it out in media portal configuration (version 0.2.3) it take about 20 minutes to detect the card, and about 30 minutes to scan the channels (46 cable channels). it takes too long but it configures it.
When i go to the media portal application everything works, if i enter into the TV sectin the screen stays blue (the background of MP) and freezes... i´ve tried with the latest drivers of haupauge.

my pc is an AMD x64 3800+ 1gb Ram / ATI 9800 Pro video card / hauppauge PVR-150 MCE
O.S. XP Professional with SP2 (afterwards i´ve tried with SP3 but result was the same.

Any clue how to solve this problem?

thanks,
Paul

1. You should use RC1 (not 0.2.3)
2. Are you using TVServer or built in TVEngine
3. Please attach logs. (See sticky)

Hope to hear from you again. (Do consider registering).

Hi,

Firstly i´ve registered since its easier to know who is who.
Secondly i was using the builtin tv engine. <i´ll post the logs during the day, since i´m not at home right now.
I´m not using the RC1 because last time i´ve tried it , th program installed the mportal tv server, that i dont want due to resources consuming and because it got me an sql 2k5 so the pc was too slow for my taste. <maybe i can install the media portal without the tv server (since i dont need it at all).

thanks.
Morg.

Hi there,

Today i´ve installed the new version V1.0.0.0 RC1 and its better it detects de card faster and scans faster.
Just got one issue that i cannot know how to solve.
I can scan the channels automatically, but after finishing some channels has some image noise (due to the automatic scan) and i want to do the fine tuning, that is some sort of manually try to decrease the noise and have better quality.

all the help will be appreciated.

Best regards,
Paul
