Country: | Hi, fisrt post on here. Ive recently built a htpc. im running mediaportal and i had it all working fine. playing dvds from disc and hdd, watching tv through it and even picking up bbc hd. i then set about following a guide to upscale dvds to 1080p by using ffdshow. i did what the guide said and when i ran mediaportal it wasnt upscaling and there was no audio. i closed media portal to see if it was the pc but it wasnt because in windows i can get audio for music and videos when i open them in different players. i uninstalled ffdshow and re installed it and used a different guide and it worked. videos were being upscalled to 1080 but i still dont have any sound. any ideas on what could have casued this problem?? thanks Dan |

Country: | Must admit, very lazy on this one, just install the Vista codec pack, you get the latest version of FFDShow Tryouts, and its pretty much preconfigured, the only things i have to change, is ffdshow audio config\upmix stereo to 5.1 and set my output to 7.1 Make sure you are using Default directsound device and FFDShow as audio, i have it set for all Movies\TV\DVD. Uninstall the version you have first. You may wish to either run the video file through directshow grapheditor (same link as above) to see what audio filter it is using, or try filmerit (link in sig) to see if you have any codec errors which may be affecting your setup. Cannot see changing any settings in FFDShow Video config affecting audio though (a link to the guide you followed would help). ps Welcome to MP ![]()
