Default OK - I've installed it - Now What?

I've installed, apparently, MediaPortal 1.0 RC2.

There are now three new Icons on my Desktop: "MediaPortal", "MediaPortal Configuation" and "TV-Server Configuration". When I click them they do stuff - but I can't work out what.

All I want to do is watch and record ordinary standard definition Digital TV. I can record it fine using Webscheduler and my Pinnacle NanoStick (73e), but I was looking for something a bit more complete.

So what do I do next?

My set up is very simple here in US.
I just watch digitial TV from an antenna and playing DVDs.

First open TV server config.
You should see your Video capture card somewhere in the list.
Now scan for channels.
Channels should be found.
Now close it.

Then open Media Portal Client.
You should then be able to use the mouse to view your channels.
On my system there is a long delay on bringing up the TV show after picking the channel.
Any channels with a weak signal cause a 1 minute delay while it reverts back to the prior channel.
The recording is a bit fragile but I have got it to work.

I recommend setting up an MCE remote. I think this is in client configuration.
Also if you have big screen LCD HD TV then use the blue 2 wide skin, again in the client config i think.

It's not on the screen shot above the text.

Hallo Mark.

Try to fill in the password and then press test to see that its the right and then save, then you should see the config.
If you didn't change the password it should be MediaPortal, I think.

Thanks Juppe,

The password does appear to be "MediaPortal" (Case Sensitive).

Where in the documentation is this screen and the password?

I now get a message...

Code:
Your version 6.5.2600.5512 of Psisdecd.dll has too many bugs! Please check our Wiki's requirements page. OK/CANCEL
Pressing "OK" leads me to this page...

GeneralRequirements - MediaPortal Wiki Documentation

Which, as far as I can see, does not mention "Psisdecd.dll" or what to do about it.

Disappointing!

Can someone please point me to the appropriate place in the documentation?

Have you installed all of the updates and hotfixes on that page?
The Psisdecd.dll is in the BDA/DVB hotfix.
