Default MediaPortal SVN-Snapshot: 04-01-2008 05-05h - Revision:18463

Infos:
These Subversion-snaps are compiled at about 01.00h (CET).
You can also visit the official irc-channel (#mediaportal) to get a notice when its ready for download. The trigger !svn gives you the latest update too.
They are not pre-tested, so please use the backup option from time to time.
If you'd like the bleeding edge code and don't mind the inherent risks, upgrade to the snapshot releases as they become available.
If stability is important to you, you might want to stay with the fully-tested releases.

How to install MediaPortal SVN-Snapshots in short:
1) Install MediaPortal 0.2.3.0, not necessary if already done
2) install .NET Framework Version 2.0
3) Run the Snapshot-Installer. You should create a backup.
4) Run Configure. Sometimes the settings and database versions change from build to build, so you have to reconfigure your TV for example
5) Hopefully enjoy the new version
6) If not, restore your old files and you will have the former version back.

Important notice: The backup function wont work for Vista atm, here you need to save your configuration manually. A rewrite is planned but will take some more time for testing.

Default Radio and different DVB cards

The SVN build in general works fine, thanks at this point.
Even Radio is possible now with my configuration but with a few restrictions.

I found 3 issues in this build:

1) Remote Radio doesn't work at all. If you tune to one station TV Server manual control says that it's timeshifting the correct sender but obviously the client doesn't pick up the stream for any reason. Besides this MP Remote Client freezes and has to be killed with the task manager.

2) Radio at the Computer TV Server is installed tunes to the first sender that is selected and plays this. The user interface still works but no other channel can be selected it still plays the first selected one.
Stopping playback works fine. If a different channel is selected after this playback doesn't start. You have to select a third channel and when you do that the second channel is played for a short period before the third channel is tuned and played.
In that way (stop - select one - select other) tuning to different stations can be done but when switching to TV and tuning one sender MP freezes.

3) We plugged FloppyDTV DVB-S2 and DVB-T in our server. Some channels (ORF1, Puls4, ...) can be recieved on both cards. As far as I understand it should be possible to watch different channels (e.g. ORF1 and Puls4, <some DVB-S channel> and ORF1, ...) on different clients the same time. When I start MP Client on my notebook I get a message that no channels are available when any DVB-S channel is already tuned on a different client and I try to switch to a channel which can be recieved on both cards.

Thanks,
Lichti

Have you mapped all channels to the both DVB cards?

Yes, they have been mapped automatically when the channels have been scanned. The only one I had to map manually was 3sat which was spelled different on DVB-S and DVB-T.
For testing I removed ATV from DVB-S and it tunes fine to it as long as DVB-T is not in use.

Using this SVN was my first attempt at getting DVB-T to work. It seems the TV Server is working fine as I can use the Media Portal client to record, and then I can play back the .ts file from the server with Power DVD on the client, and its running smooth as (so H.264 decoding must be working fine etc), however when I try to watch Live TV with Media Portal it won't start.

I've attached log files from running MP with debug shortcut.

Cheers.

My System

Default BUG - Channels removed from group reappear

I have an "All Channels" (idGroup = 1) and "Adult" (idGroup = 2) channel group set.

If I remove adult channels from the "All Channels" group (by going to the TV Channels -> TV Groups -> Mapping tab) in the TV Server Configuration, they reappear when starting MediaPortal.

I confirmed this by performing the following Select (your channel IDs may vary):

SELECT idMap, idGroup, idChannel, SortOrder
FROM GroupMap
WHERE (idChannel > 48) AND (idChannel < 51)

As soon as I opened MP, I saw 2 new rows show up associated with the group ID from where I had removed them.

Thanks

I should also mention that the channels that keep showing up are set as EPG retrieval channels...
