Question Daemon Tools and DVD Drive

Hi all,

I'm having an issue where I can't mount any .iso, .img, etc images on my HTPC with Daemon Tools 4.08HE. I have Secure Mode unticked and as for Emulation, all options are off. Even outside of MP when i try to mount a .img file from a network share, Daemon Tools does not show that the images is mounted on my H: drive (the virtual drive I use).

I have also noticed that sometimes when I place a DVD into my DVD-RAM drive, it isn't seen by Windows XP Pro. Is there something I'm missing? I've never had issues with DVD drives or Daemon tools and just thought I would ask the every so helpful community here

Thanks!

EDIT: I have an LG GSA-H10N Super multi drive...

Default

Just thought I would reply with my own findings.

I was running a utility called Nero DriveSpeed. This utility was supposed to quiet down my LG drive (not very loud to begin with). After disabling this utility, I can now mount any image with Daemon Tools.

I was also unable to place a DVD into my LG drive and have it play or even be seen as a DVD disc under Windows XP.

If anyone has any suggestions for a replacement utility to have a CD/DVD drive spin quieter, I'm open to suggestions
