Free Swiss TV on Internet (also includes German stations)

There is a new Free TV service over the internet in CH.

www.zattoo.ch

Currently running as a beta. I just gave it a try and it works ok as long as you don't want a full screen picture.

Data rate seems to be running at about 300-500kbps.

You need to register with an email address and download a their own player.

They plan to put ads between channel changes. Currently in the beta there are no ads.

Yup received a flyer the other day at the EPFL

The service is not bad, they use open sourced codec but sometimes when the server's load is too high the image is bad.

About the quality of the image I must say they would certainly have a better image if they where not grabbing the image from the analog signal as it seems they are doing (the image is distorted on the side)

Anyway this is a good way to look at the TV from anywhere in the world

Doesn't work from outside CH

Seems to check IP address.

Do you think they will be a plugin for MP ?

Or a modification of the TV to have the analog TV and the streaming TV as for the radio ?

You can get some kind of Streaming-TV by putting the URL in the Radio part of MP. Try

Works with Cablecom's streaming at least.
