Default General DVB-T Card/USB Stick/Box Question

Hi there,

Why is it that different cards/usb sticks have different hardware requirements as I thought there was no such thing as hardware/software encoding - thought it was just plain "decode signal".

Is it to with the software they use (come with) then?

Or is it something I have missed?

------------------

Also - do different card/boxes/sticks have different quality? Or are they all the same?

Thanks.

I have noticed notably that the USB versions require alot more cpu power than PCI versions.
