I need your recommendation!

I'm looking for a program to convert DVDs to videos that can be transferred to the iPhone. Do you guys have any recommendations?

This is the Third post from a new user in 2 weeks with very similar question.

If anyone points to a paid for software link (advertising) again, and being another new user, this will be deleted and the relevant people banned.

Free\trial software welcome.

Not a clue when it comes to iPhone/iPod/i(other) myself, though ...
