MP with Vista: screenshot

since the public beta is out, i couldn't hold myself (-;

just FYI: mediaportal runs with windows Vista as you can see in the screenshot. no further testing so far, have to get sound set up first (not easy to find vista drivers (-; )

i will run some more tests in the future and add the screenshots.

just to prevent, at least originally this thread isn't meant to be a discussion whether windows vista is good or sucks..... (-; i just wanted to try it out.

For those of you who are willing to try the beta but have no "test environment", dual booting between XPmce and Vista works fine for me!

edit: sorry, the picture is a bit oversized.... will replace it later with a downscaled one.

I guess I am just looking for a beating, but I just finished the beta2 download and getting this working (if I can with my hardware) is my weekend project

Think you have started STAMPEDE, cannot access Vista download, get as far as there download manager install, which fails.
Oh well there is always tomorrow. :wink:

anyway, it seems like MP dows not like vistas folderstructure. the shares doesn't appear in MP (-;... too bad. not that easy as i thought it would be (-;

no, they have changed the folder tree... for no purpose other than changing it it seems :roll:

I think it is related with their brainstorm about the new "virtual folder" concept (that changed much among the beta builds).

Hi, today I tried to install MP 0.002 under Vista Beta 2, but the installation immediately fails, it says something like "unable to find setup.msi"
How did you manage to install MP ?

(and when some dev adds better menu handling, multiple calls to modules and plugins with different options and much better dbase handling, it will be love... ah and a nice 3D front end and inter-module messaging system and...) Don't argue with the founder of Greek Off-Topic Community about taking a thread off-topic. I cannot help it! My webshots album (contains the old version of my HTPC setup too)
