Is anybody using it? I have two machines in a wired config and would like to maybe use this as a source for my video files to both systems. Waste of time or what? Should I just use file sharing? Any recommendations is appreciated. TA.

I use an NSLU2 which is unslung, with 2 external HDD's. Run out of room now so may have to mod it to add extra drives.

I've been looking at these. How is playback if movies are stored here and played on HTPC? Any disconnects, stuttering...things like that. Cheers.

In the two months I have been using it in anger, I have had 2 disconnects but no stuttering, but it always happens when my wife is using it!
It does mean though that I use hardly any electricity and have all my files available from 1 source.
BTW I also have twonky to serve media to my 360 at the same time.

Using in anger
What's all the anger about? Should I take that as a non recommendation?

I used a asus wl-hdd for my MP3's but that didn't work verry well.
I think MP checks each file when it tries to display the mp3 collection with 6000+ files this was to slow on this verry slow nas device.

Never used video's on this device.

Spent a lot of years in the UK. Married a Lancashire lass and I don't remember that term.
