I just ran my rig for 6 hrs - recording also - never went above 235MB allocated.

So since you're using a software encoding card then it's likely the encoding codec's you're using is causing an issue here.

The Hauppauge TV Tuner card is a software decoder?

edit:
By the way, even at 235MB I would still be complaining...
235MB is a lot of memory for a windows program...

You card is a software encoding/decoding device.

And thats 235MB allocated by Windows not actually used by MP or the OS.
The info camed from my LCD display system information details which isn't the accurate of things.

The machine never went above 86MB of physical memory usage.

why is everybody so concerned about their memory usage?.

I you bought 1GB of memory, and your'e using 200 of it?
does that look like a good investment?

(Note)
I'm working a lot with Database servers, and this is my std reply when customers are complaining that SQL Server is using all avaliable memory.

.NET uses AS MUCH MEMORY as it needs, if it is avalable, why should'nt it? if another application want's more, .NET will broke the memory usage between applications..

Hello there!

I have the mem leak to.
Doesnt matter which version of MP i use. All have the leak.
Its frustrating. When i use windvr 3 the tv quality is MUCH better/sharper.
I just dont understand why in MP i get mem leak and poor quality.
I tried every codec available.

mdingemanse, this topic is over a year old. You may want to consider opening up a new support topic with specs / log files.
