Country: | Area: My Home/Powerscheduler MP Version: CVS build from 15/11/2005 Skin: BlueTwo Windows Version: Windows XP SP2, .NET 2.0 CPU Type: Intel P4 2.8Ghz Memory: 512MB, DualChannel Motherboard Chipset: ? (Intel 865) Video Card: Radeon X700 Video Card Driver: Catalyst 5.9 Video Card Resolution: 1920x1080i Video Render Type: VMR9 Video Codec Type & Version: Nvidia Audio Codec Type & Version: Nvidia TV Card: DNTV TV Card: Haup 150MCE Optional Log: N/A Optional References:N/A Synopsis: I have just upgraded to the latest 0.2.0 CVS release, and while the rest of the product seems to be quite solid now (with the return of the MS stream buffer), I have found the previously stable and solid suspend by PowerScheduler is now quite unstable. I am finding that it causes MP to lock up when it tries to suspend after the inactivity timeout. The last thing I see in the log is: 15/11/2005 11:05:55 PM PowerScheduler: Evaluate TVGuide recordings 15/11/2005 11:05:58 PM PowerScheduler: TVGuide World Rally Championship FOX Sports 1 16/11/2005 8:29:00 AM 15/11/2005 11:05:58 PM PowerScheduler: GetNextRecordingStarttime() starttime 16/11/2005 8:29:00 AM 15/11/2005 11:05:58 PM PowerScheduler: Prepare for shutdown, disable any TVcard 15/11/2005 11:05:58 PM PowerScheduler: Turn off timeshifting 15/11/2005 11:05:58 PM Recorder topviewing()15/11/2005 11:05:58 PM Recorder topAllViewing()15/11/2005 11:05:58 PM Recorder: Card:1 viewing:False recording:False timeshifting:False channel:TV1 15/11/2005 11:05:58 PM Recorder: Card:2 viewing:False recording:False timeshifting:False channel: 15/11/2005 11:05:58 PM Card:2 DeleteGraph 15/11/2005 11:05:58 PM DVBGraphBDA eleteGraph()15/11/2005 11:05:58 PM DVBDemuxer: audio:0 video:0 teletext:0 pmt:0 subtitle:0 program:-1 15/11/2005 11:05:58 PM DVBGraphBDA:stop graph 15/11/2005 11:05:58 PM DVBGraphBDA:graph stopped 15/11/2005 11:05:58 PM DVBGraphBDA:remove vmr9 15/11/2005 11:05:58 PM DVBGraphBDA:remove vmr7 15/11/2005 11:05:58 PM free pins 15/11/2005 11:05:58 PM free dvbanalyzer 15/11/2005 11:05:58 PM DVBGraphBDA:free samplegrabber 15/11/2005 11:05:58 PM DVBGraphBDA:free streambuffersink 15/11/2005 11:05:58 PM DVBGraphBDA:free networkprovider 15/11/2005 11:05:58 PM DVBGraphBDA:free tunerdevice 15/11/2005 11:05:58 PM DVBGraphBDA:free capturedevice 15/11/2005 11:05:58 PM DVBGraphBDA:free demux 15/11/2005 11:05:58 PM DVBGraphBDA:free remove graph 15/11/2005 11:05:58 PM DVBGraphBDA:free remove capturegraphbuilder 15/11/2005 11:05:58 PM DVBGraphBDA:free graphbuilder 15/11/2005 11:05:59 PM Card:1 stop 15/11/2005 11:05:59 PM Card:2 stop 15/11/2005 11:05:59 PM texturemanager:dispose() 15/11/2005 11:05:59 PM TexturePacker ispose()15/11/2005 11:05:59 PM TexturePacker: fontengine remove texture:198 15/11/2005 11:05:59 PM TexturePacker: fontengine remove texture:199 15/11/2005 11:05:59 PM TexturePacker: fontengine remove texture:196 15/11/2005 11:05:59 PM PowerScheduler: ResetShutdownTimer() 15/11/2005 11:05:59 PM PowerScheduler: Shutdown timer deactivated 15/11/2005 11:05:59 PM PowerScheduler: Suspend system 15/11/2005 11:05:59 PM WM_POWERBROADCAST: 0 15/11/2005 11:05:59 PM Suspend/standby requested! 15/11/2005 11:05:59 PM Recorder topviewing()At this point MP has totally locked, it does not respond to any input, and cannot be killed with task manager, it requires a reboot to restore the system. From what I can see it appears to be calling Recorder topviewing twice, once in response to the inactivity timeout, and a second time in response to the window power broadcast message. I wonder if that is a problem, and it should only be called once?? |

Country: | it seems that the problem is caused by the "disable tv card" check box, so I've unchecked that for the moment, and the problem has gone away. I will see how I go with stability with this unchecked. But it definitely appears there is a problem with the code around this option. |

Country: | It seems that I am having some instability problems with the setting DisableTVCards = false. The system sometimes hangs if a suspend happens soon after an automated recording. So I'm back to needing to have DisableTVCards set to true, but the recent CVS changes appear to cause a hang on suspend if this value is set. Has anyone else found this behaviour with the Powerscheduler and disable TV cards. It appears to me from the log that the code is trying to shutdown the cards twice on suspend, which appears to be causing the hang. Is anyone else seeing this? |

| Nah, I tried disabling tv, when suspending, it didn't work. Wondered whether it was to do with .net 2 just installed but it suspends fine in Mediacenter but not in mediaportal it's a cvs issue. We'll have to wait untill the dev team can work they're wonders..... Carry on with the great work guys. |

Country: | Are you seeing the repeat of the 15/11/2005 11:05:59 PM Recorder topviewing() log line (with the second repetition being the last line in the log, and apparenty the point where the hang occurs) ? I found that when I have "DisableTVCard" set to true, ie disabling TV, I have the problem, if I don't disable TV then I don't see the problem (although then I don't disable TV cards, then MP otherwise becomes unstable). Those who are seeing this problem, perhaps it would be a good idea to post the end of your mediaportal logs to see if these are the same problems. |
