| Hi everybody, I have a Geforce 6150 (integrated in Asus M2NPV-VM) in my HTPC. Everything works very well except one problem which I just can't seem to fix. I tested it with stock drivers of Asus and now the newest 94.24 drivers. I have a 720p HDTV projector (Component) and a normal TV (S-Video/Composite). Both are connected to the HTPC and I can setup both so that they show a proper image if connected separately. I know that it is not possible to have both outputs on at the same time. Now my problems: 1. If I have the component cable connected, then any TV-out settings are always going over the component cable. It is not possible to choose any other connection in the setup. If I deconnect one of the component cables and setup the TV again, then it works, but as soon as I connect the cable again, it switches back to component out. Is there a possibility to not have it switch automatically and to show me the S-Video/Composite settings even when the component cables are connected? 2. If I use profiles to setup the TV connection and the HDTV connection and try to switch between them with a hotkey, then the output signal (HDTV 720p <-> NTSC) doesn't change. Obviously that doesn't work then. Is there a tool that allows me to do that? I could use Autohotkey to script a complete resetup, but that is not really a good option. Can anybody help me with any of these issues? Thanks aCC |

| Portal Member | Hi aCC, I'am using a GF7600GS that came with an combo adapter for Composite/SVIDEO/Compenent output. The adapter has got a nvidia branding on it's upper side and a hint on the back: "NOT FOR SIMULTANEOUS CONNECTIVITY OF SVIDEO/COMP WITH COMPONENT" In my opinon the 9 pin gfx connector is sharing some pins, perhaps this is the problem. Regards, MyPVR |

Country: | Some video cards, especially on board ones, only have one DAC (Digital to Analog converter). As a result, can only display one analog output at once. this includes everything except for DVI and HDMI. I realise you know this already but thought I would point it out again just in cas others didn't. Can you feed the componant signals into a splitter then feed the TV and the projector off the same output? The splitter wouldn't cost much, as there is no circuitry needed, just extra cable ends. |

| Thanks for the answers. Yes, I'm aware that I can't do simultaneous output of component and s-video. That's also not what I'm trying to do. I want to switch between the outputs, i.e. turn components off and s-video on and the other way round including switching the resolutions. The tip with the splitter sounds interesting. I will have to switch the resolution, but that shouldn't be too much of a problem. Do you have any example of one that might be capable of this? I had a search on Google, but couldn't find any cheap ones. Thanks! |

Country: | You might have to make your own to get it for a reasonable price. When connecting my projector to an HDTV STB I just made the componant to D-Sub cable. Usually these speciality cables are fairly expensive. Another idea...does your projector have a VGA connector? Mine does so I figure you're might. You can use the VGA connector for the projector, and then use svideo for the other TV. Usually these vid cards do allow the VGA to be connected allong with other analog outputs. Also, I have seen some 6150s (don't know about your's) with a DVI connector...usually the Analog part of the DVI connector is on a separate DAC where it is assumed to be your main moniter (and any other output is the second). If none of the above applies to your case ...you might still try testing the Componant inputs on your projector, somtimes they are setup to accept RGB signals (no, the two extra lines are not necessary). Anyway, ya might as well test it out, since that would be real easy solution. |
