looks really nice.
i read about massive overheating problems with this 780g northbridge...so you'd better supply it with some air. or maybe you do have some other infos for me on this topic, cause i'm planning to buy this mobo myself...
regards

thx for the nice words.

@pstar, yes u're right. i intend to use an "emergency" fan which I ordered last night.
it's a 80mm pwm controlled fan. it'll only start when a critical temp is exceeded.
Gigabyte delivers a softwor to do so. It's "Easy tune pro"...

and another thing I've ordered. A nice button.... with blue led-ring. 12,91 € @ conroad.de

the button is made by a company called bulgin if its any help. i thought the only supplier in germany was aquacomputer. suprisingly conrad really is cheaper.

ichessblumen,

Your case is interesting, I look forward to seeing how you progress.

I actually have a fully passive case already. Take a look here: KustomPCs.co.uk - mCubed HFX Chassis Silver / Silver (Bare)

The same manufacturer also does a couple of smaller ones:
KustomPCs.co.uk - mCubed HFX® Mini Case White / Silver
and
KustomPCs.co.uk - HFX® Micro Bundle i965 - M1 Black Amber

@ent,

the button is similar to the bulgin. the manufacturer is onpow and i bought it from conrad.de the item no is 701310 - 62 .

@funkstar,

yes I know the mcubed... but in my opinion it is tooo expensive. that's why I am bulding my own enclosure..

and here we go with the progress.

- bent the 0.8 mm alloy which holds the dvd (or whatever will come ) drive.
- fastened the dvd-drive holder

- cut out the 1.5mm auxiliary front for the vfd-display and the dvd-drive

next step:
- creating the left side of the enclosure.
it consists of 2.0 mm alloy profile and 6mm alloy round.

with that i'm going to create 10 fins on the left side. this will be the test for my "masterpiece".....my diy cpu-cooler

and here some pics, showing the progress.

so far... happy easter.

Simply amazing!
Seriously though, you could turn this into a profitable business. I'd probably be one of the first to order btw. :-)

Yes there are expensive, and as cases go, they are awkward to use and install everything in.

I got mine from someone clearing stock on eBay, it was a lot less than the price on KustomPCs

Good luck with the rest of the build
