The Gigabyte board seems pretty good.

I've not tried any HD footage on mine yet, but i've very happy with the system I put together for my bedroom.

Planning on replacing the mobo in my main HTPC with one of these at some point too.

no problems at all with this mobo. plays bluray smoothly.

i'm just fiddeling with the terratec cinergy s2 card. Ive to replace it, cause its seemingly out of order. it wont work neither with mp nor dvbviewer or terratec homecinema...next week i'll know more...

I have installed the following catalyst driver

AMD GAME! Drivers and Utilities

It includes motherboard/igp driver. that's for xp 32 bit. Select the one for your OS.

I'm using the codecs of power dvd ultra 7.

Make sure that you have in the mediaportal config the "My TV" plugin the "listed in home" enabled.

Atm my rig isn't still running yet. It seems that my TV card is broken.
I'll report on this with the terratec cinergy s-2 in this thread later...

I've got this board... love it.

5.1 upmix is phenominal playing my ripped CD collection (flac's through the S/P DIF optical).

DVD ISO's play without error from my HD. No HiDef content yet, though.

Still a couple issues with codecs and my HDHomerun tuners being friendly to each other, that's what I'm thinking anyway, since so many people seem to be having minimal TV issues.

But, overall, I've very pleased..

Chuck

btw, I picked up a Harmony 670 Remote.... pure sweetness... Logitech even has MediaPortal in thier database of codes. No need for blasting anything I have in the media center. $130 US... but the WAF rating went WAY UP.

yes I use a psu, which is often used for car pc's. mine's from morex, but with 120W.

some similar equipment can be bought here

But I'm still fiddling with the crappy cinergy s2 tv card. it won't work neither with the terratec tv-software nor with MP.
Just bought a technisat skystar hd2 to get my rig running. Hopefully this weekend I will finish the project and give a detailed report.

so long.
