OK I just finished rebuilding mine. I somehow fried the MB but here's what I got.

By replacing the case fans it dropped the dba level quite a bit although I loose a little cfm. I don't think that should be a problem seeing that it's not overclocked or worked very hard. Will need to keep an eye on temps.

I also would like to replace to 2 drives for a single, but budget can't afford it right now.

OK Dumb question.. How do you post pics?

Nice setup!! But when you have a nice PSU with 120mm fan and some good CPU-Coolers you can throw the case fans out, like I did!

To post pics you need a webspace where your pictures are located and then put the url of a pic between the img-tags. I think thats the way to go here.

Nice setup Mike! Can't wait to see some pics of the built system.

When I was stress testing the components for heat, I installed temperature monitoring software and ran prime95 for about 24 hours, all while monitoring the temps.

Just set the monitoring software to either warn you or shutdown when the temps climb too high, and check on it a couple times during the day.

I am using this tenor case as well.
It looks really nice.
Did u guys connect those blue LEDs?
I found them too bright so I disconnected them all.

BTW, I am using this case with Foxconn 945P7aa, unfortunately, the PSU connector of the motherboard is located right in front of the 3.5" drive cage after installed. It totally blocked me from installing any hard drives in the cage. Luckily, I got 1 drive only and I installed it on the support brace. One draw back is that I find the vibration of the harddrive causes the brace to have noice coming out. Finally, I put some foam at the side of the hard drive before screwing it onto the brace and fixed the noise problem.

I haven't disconnected the blue lights...yet. They haven't annoyed me so far.

I removed the 3.5" cage because I needed room for wires and wires and wires. Grrrr... I also ended up taking out the UBS/Firewire connectors from the front and the support brace that runs over the CPU.

The USB wires because, 1. My MB doesn't have a Firewire connector and 2. The iMon display needed an internal USB and the MB only had one. So I couldn't use the connectors, they had to go. Plus by getting rid of all of those wires left a little more room in the case.

The brace ove the CPU would not accomadate my CPU heatsink & fan.

I'm thinking of getting a SATA controller & a 200 gb drive to replace my 2 - 80 gb IDE drives. It's an extra card but I could get rid of the IDE cables that currently are a pain. Plus then I would have 1 drive and not 2 = less noise, I hope.

The first thing I did was to disconnect the blue LEDs! I didn't like them. But that's everybodys own opinion...

Just an tipp for the HDDs: Remove the whole HDD cage and put the HDD in front of th fan hole in the front of the case on some foam. See the pics therefore: http://www.silenthardware.de/forum/i...md=si&img=1330

The HDD produces a lot more noise when it's mounted in the HDD cage but when it lays flexible on foam you can't here the noise of the vibration.

Now that I have the unit downstairs under the TV in the living room, i've connected all the LED's on the system. It looks great behind the glass of the entertainment unit.

When I had the unit upstairs in my room next to the TV though, I disconnected the power LED only - left the downward shining LED's on because they weren't as bright in comparison. That system power LED is blinding if you look directly into it! :lol:

I tried what your idea about removing the HD from the support brace, and instead I just put it onto a pad of motherboard foam from a motherboard box. It really cut down on the vibration at the front of the case, but I haven't noticed it being any quieter (as is, if i close the glass on the entertainment unit, you can hear it at all - even when I go to bed at night when its very quiet.)

For anyone who is getting noise caused by the HD vibration, it should help greatly!

Hi ya'll

Glad to see so many people using the Thermaltake Tenor. For the cash it's still the best out there. Mine's been running under my TV for a while now and I've not had a single problem with it. I disconnected the front fan and I put in a passivly cooled GeForce 6200 and so the only sound I get now is my PSU. This I shall be replacing as soon as I can find a suitable replacement. I see lots of candidates which claim "silent" running yet when you look closer are no quieter than my cheapo PSU I'm using at the moment.

One point I made in my original review of this case was I mentioned that I had problems fitting in all with my hard drives as I had so many : :twisted: Well this has been solved with the purchase of this funky device the other day.

I stuck my two 200 GB devices in it attached it to my hub and now all my movies, TV, music etc are stored else where out of the way. And as my PVR is wired to the router there's no speed problems either.
