Country: | CDSlayer is a plugin for MediaPortal, that lets you rip your CDs to Ogg Vorbis, MP3 or FLAC format. It automatically tags the music files with information from freedb.org's database and places them in your default music directory. The main design criteria is simplicity. That is minimal configuration (none at the monent), so also the novice user is able to make a quality rip with a minimum of effort. Features: - Tags music files with info from freedb. - Handles normal albums (single artist) as well as compilation albums. - Ogg Vorbis encoding (Lancer Acceleration 20060903). - Music files are saved to your default music directory automatically. - Files are named from music information. Download CDSlayer v0.6 here: http://www.team-mediaportal.com/file...o/CDSlayer0.6/ New in version 0.6: - New version of FLAC encoder 1.2.1. - New version of Ogg Vorbis encoder: Lancer [20061110](SSE2) based on aoTuV b5. - Default MP3 encoder settings are adjusted so they fit the recommendation by Hydrogenaudio.org for optimal sound quality. - Some user interface optimizations. - MP3 and FLAC support thanks to JBurnette. Country: | Yes, I agree with you Stormbringer, the built-in CD ripper is hidden too far away and requires too much attention to use. This is also the reason why i am developing this plugin, plain and simple CD ripping without too many questions... and Ogg Vorbis support of course :-) Last edited by jAxx; 2006-09-15 at 13:58. |

Country: | I belive you should use the SSE2 version since Pentium M and Celeron M are pretty much the same (except for SpeedStep and some caching i believe..). You can just test the SSE against the SSE2 version in the commandline to see which is the fastest. The latest versions of oggenc.exe: SSE (included in the CDSlayer package): http://homepage3.nifty.com/blackswor...er20060903.zip SSE2 (Athlon64, Opteron, Pentium IV, Pentium M): http://homepage3.nifty.com/blackswor...er20060903.zip |

Country: | Could you make "auto-rip" optional? Sometimes I just wanna play a CD.... not rip-it. Thanks!

Country: | What kind of file compression formats are you thinking about? Also, Is it possible Can you add this in such a way so that cdslayer can take advantage of encoders already installed on the system? I would like Broadcast Wave (BWAV)-support, because I like to keep my music uncompressed (space is cheap) and as compatible with devices as possible. |

Country: | First of MP3 support. Then secondly some sort of lossless compression like Wavpack or FLAC. Wave support could also be an option. Easy to implement since files are ripped to wave format and then encoded. CDSlayer will not take advantage of encoders already installed on the system. |
