@armandp
Are you planning to implement some kind of pre-buffering for the HD streams at least? Even though I am using a 16mbit connection of my cable tv provider 720p and 1080p videostreams start stuttering after some seconds. 480p and lower works without problems.

Yes that's one of the first things i want to achieve actually together with a "download to folder" option. This and the non-playable issue.

I'm baffled how some of you guys are getting this to work. Can you detail your codecs you have installed and how you installed MP and are you running XP or Vista? Version numbers if possible?

Many thanks,
Colin

Smile New version - Movie Trailers 0.7 (=test4)

Oke .. "test" 4... but i'm from now on i'm releasing it under the name Movie Trailers v0.7.

fixed: nagivation issues (previous wasn't always working as expected)
update: improved cache (cache for now is only per session and not persisted - will change this soon)
added: covers/thumbnails
added: Views (List, Icons, Big Icons, Filmstrip)
added: backgroundworker for getting the data from the web (indicated by a wait cursor)

Still many many things to do but with these updates the overall experience should increase.

installation

Unzip the archive into your ../Team Mediaportal/MediaPortal/ directory.
The basic skin (MovieTrailer.xml) is available for BlueTwo Wide but can be copied to other skin directories as well. It currently has one button and consists of common skin parts already available on most/all skins.

@sleepycol: i'm sorry but i didn't change anything to how the videos are played but i'm still researching it (my best guess is that your ds filter merits are "mixed up" - this will be a problem untill i find a way to force a graph for streaming playback )

edit: the attached skin xml is for Aeon Wide.
Attached Files
File Type: zip MovieTrailers-0.7.zip (30.0 KB, 124 views)
File Type: xml MovieTrailers.xml (6.2 KB, 63 views)

I run Vista Ultimate SP1 using EVR as video renderer, Mediaportal RC2 without any SVN. I've installed no codecpacks, just ac3filter for ac3 and dts decoding, respectively spdif passthrough, coreavc and haali media spliter (latest version) and for a short time now QT lite for the movie trailers plugin.
I didn't have to change any filter merits or something like that, I only installed QT lite, the movie trailers plugin and it worked.
Since this is my HTPC I've installed nothing else to keep the system as clean as possible.

For VC-1/AVC playback I use Zoomplayer, but for Movie Trailers I use the internal player of MP. In the MP setup I changed the DirectX(? Sorry, I'm at work now and don't know the exact name) settings from VMR9 to EVR. To change this setting you have to switch to enhanced setup mode.

Same here for my real media centre machine.. i only have the MPC Video and Powerdvd codecs added to that list. Clean as can be
I think Haali Media Splitter plays a key part in being able to play streaming .mov from MP.

Hi,i have the same problem like sleepycol on Vista SP1 but everything works on XP SP3.On my Vista OS i have installed QT alternative,Cyberlink ,Halli Splitter(standalone pack),Ac3 filter and FFDshow and still Movie Trailers don't work.
My XP SP3 instead is a total mess, codec pack installed and other filters but movie trailers works,so at this point i'm not sure if it has something to do with codec packs.I'm using MP 1.0.0 RC2 on both OS but only on XP a have installed the latest SVN.The only thing that maybe have something to do with Movie Trailers problem is i'm using the "smart zoom" feature on Vista. If other user is using this zoom mode and have problem with movie trailers let us know...

edit:installed latest svn on Vista and without "smart zoom" but still no go for movie trailers

It seems that in XP the ffdshow filters take care of the videostream and not QT lite. Maybe you can try to deinstall/deactivate ffdshow in your XP system and see if video playback still works.
Furthermore you can use graphedit on your Vista system to check if Vista is able to build a working graph for the mov files. With graphedit you can also check if your Vista system is able to playback mov files with the current graph.
