Netflix Manager v2.0 w/Play now support

Thank you for this amazing plugin. This is the most excited I've been about my htpc since I first discovered MediaPortal!

One thing I'm still not getting to work though... The Search function.

All my queues, genres, etc show up fine, but when I search I just get the "Getting Search Results" dialogue and no progress or results. I *have* quadruple checked my shopperID and CookieID. In fact, I *did* have the wrong cookieid on my first install (got it from FireFox rather than IE), but I've corrected that and restarted everything with no change. Any ideas?

Even without search this is an awesome plugin, but fixing this will really ice the cake. Thanks again!

I'm working on my first HTPC build and am really jazzed about the ability to use the Netflix Manager plugin. So far things have been going well, but I'm not able to bring up the configuration screen for the Netflix Manager plugin.

I'm getting an "Unhandled Exception" error message that I don't know how to interpret and was hoping someone might point me in the right direction.

The OS should be up to date (100+ patches applied) - but I might need to update the video and sound drivers...

Did I miss something while I was installing MediaPortal or this plugin?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I had the same problem. The version you are using posted in the download section is version 1.5 and will not work with MP 0.2.3.0. Download the plugin attached to the first message of this thread and you should be in good shape. I just went through this as well...

I'm sorry, but I don't understand how to install a plugin for MP. Just downloaded last week, trying to use it as a front end for Netflix streaming video.

Netflix works fine with MSMP, but I installed as per your instructions, doesn't even show on any menu. Where is it supposed to show up? Using the default BlueTwo Wide theme. Also, once it shows on the menu, can I then perform the setup or is there some file I need to modify?

I am sure sorry if it sounds like a stupid question, please write it off as inexperience. Thanks

Hi asnider -

Be sure after install that you have gone into setup.exe and activated the plugin. In the Plugins section, find and right click this plugin, then select the 'configuration' option. You can also choose whether it will show up in the main menu or plugins menu.

OK, I've read through this entire thread, installed the version of the plug-in provided at the beginning of this thread and actually got it kinda working in Mediaportal. However, there seems to be some resolution/formatting issue with the GUI. I'm running a screen resolution of 1920x1080 and am seeing a couple issues. One small issue is that the coverart thumbnail in the left margin is underneath the menu selection icons. The big issue is the aspect ratio of the movie display is completely wrong, can only describe it as way too short and wide. Is this plug-in only usable for those with a certain resolution or for people who can modify the code? Anyone running XP got this working properly at 1920x1080 without modifying the code?

So, I had a little bit of time, strong motivation, and a small desire to mess with C# - as a result find attached an enhanced 'alpha version' of NetflixManager.dll that finds the actual buttons on the form and clicks instead of clicking on particular positions of the screen making it resolution independent. Credit goes to the person who has the hack via girder and all who have helped with the plugin to date. Make sure MediaPortal has the option for keeping the window on top of all others turned on for the keyboard shortcuts to work. I have tried it with Watch Now Queue and Top 50. Some of the other features of the plugin such as search and browse seem to be broken - I was concentrating on getting Watch Now working via remote... Change the position of the cover art image per your resolution in the NetflixManager.xml file.

Here is what I have:

Fullscreen:
- toggle behavior via remote 'context menu' and keyboard 'F9'
- note: wait for fullscreen button to be enabled - it starts of disabled
- note: best to wait till movie has started playing

Play:
- discrete behavior via remote control 'play' and keyboard 'p' available once movie is playing

Pause:
- discrete behavior via remote control 'pause' and keyboard 'space bar' available once movie is playing

Stop:
- discrete behavior via remote control 'stop' and keyboard 'esc' available once movie is playing
- note: stop actually closes the watch now netflix browser instance and returns to previous screen
- note: did not use 'b' since 'shift b' in non-fullscreen mode shows stream quality

Try it out and let me know how it pans out for you...

Thanks for this plugin, i'm enjoying it.

I have a noob question and hoping I don't get flac for asking it.. I have searched and haven't found an answer.
the question is.

Is there a way to change the aspect ratio of this plugin to strecth or zoom the video to the full screen resolution oppose to 480p ? I don't mind it not upscaling.. just don't want it burning those black lines onto my plasma.
