Couple of problems that need fixing:

1. The monitor goes to sleep while the netflix video is playing. This is not experienced with MediaPortal itself playing a video. So, there must be a way to let windows xp know that monitor should not be put to sleep/screen saver mode.
2. Up/Down/Left/Right still seems to be happening behind the full screen video. There must be a way to consume actions such that they are not acted upon by the window behind the full screen window form.

If anyone knows the code snippet for these two problems please let me know.

Credit goes to the person who has the hack via girder and all who have helped with the plugin to date. Make sure MediaPortal has the option for keeping the window on top of all others turned on for the keyboard shortcuts to work. I have tried it with Watch Now Queue and Top 50. Some of the other features of the plugin such as search and browse seem to be broken - I was concentrating on getting Watch Now working via remote... Change the position of the cover art image per your resolution in the NetflixManager.xml file.

Here is what I have:

Fullscreen:
- toggle behavior via remote 'context menu' and keyboard 'F9'
- note: wait for fullscreen button to be enabled - it starts of disabled
- note: best to wait till movie has started playing

Play:
- discrete behavior via remote control 'play' and keyboard 'p' available once movie is playing

Pause:
- discrete behavior via remote control 'pause' and keyboard 'space bar' available once movie is playing

Stop:
- discrete behavior via remote control 'stop' and keyboard 'esc' available once movie is playing
- note: stop actually closes the watch now netflix browser instance and returns to previous screen
- note: did not use 'b' since 'shift b' in non-fullscreen mode shows stream quality

Try it out and let me know how it pans out for you...
Is the source code available for the changes that you have implemented?

Hi all, I don't use the Netflix plugin, but, while uselessly surfing the internets, I stumbled upon this potentially interesting news for you:
The vmcNetFlix plugin for windows MCE went open source. Their forum tread can be found here
Might be a reason to take a look at each others projects?

hi-i'm new to mediaportal and i am having some problems with this plugin. i got it finally setup with the 2 id's and i can see my queue, however i can not watch anything. clicking the watch now button seems to have no effect. is there something i should check to make sure it's working?
also, as a suggestion, maybe a definitive installation guide can be put in the first post. it's not until you get to the 5th page of this topic that you find out how to find the cookie ID (post 44). right now when i read it, it basically says, get this and this and do that and voila... but the this and this are unknown to new users and need more direction than what's given.
thanks for the work put into it...

Are you sure that when you click "watch now" you are on a movie that is available for watch now? Seems like a silly question, but you can also view your DVD queue and many of those of course can't be watched now...

Also, I'm sure you've already used watch now on this computer outside of the MP environment so you know that it works with your version of explorer etc, right? If you've used explorer to watch Netflix on this computer, make sure it is closed when you try to use MP. If you have a watch now window open, even if it isn't currently streaming, Netflix won't let you open a new one...

I am having the same issue. I click on watch now to browse and get nothing. I tested the mce netflix plugin and it works great. I would prefer to use mediaportal so if I am missing something to get this working then please let me know.

hi-so i realized that since i just put this pc together, i hadn't actually used netflix watch now in my browser. knowing it has to install the Netflix player, i figured that this would be what is preventing it from playing...
partially...
cause now i can hear the movie starting in the background, but i still get no video. i'm still left looking at the mediaportal queue screen.
any ideas from that? i added my log in case there was something in there that showed the problem.
thanks
