New Plugin: TV Recordings

Dear Mediaportal Community

I'm happy to announce a new plugin called "TV Recordings"which is a GUI for managing manual recordings. It aims to be a more convenient replacement for the manual recordings functionality which is part of the "My TV" GUI.

Current Features
- Improved GUI for scheduling new recordings
- Overview over the status of scheduled and finished recordings
- Detailed information for each recording
- "Play", "Delete" or "Rename" recordings
- Self descriptive GUI







Planned features
- Support of the 16:9 "BlueTwoWide" skin (currently, only the 4:3 "BlueTwo" is supported)
- Giving a scheduled recording a (descriptive) name in order to easily recognize the recording later.
- Support of reoccuring recordings ("series")
- Automatic thumbnail generation for finished recordings
- Support of EPG driven schedules
- Support for localizations ("translations")

Installation
- Copy the contents of this distribution to you your mediaportal directory
- Enable this plugin in the configuration: "Plugins -> Window Plugins -> Tv Recordings"

Notes
- Tested for Mediaportal 0.2.3
- Enable the PowerScheduler plugin in order to let your machine to be sent to sleep or waked up according
to your scheduled recordings. After scheduling a recording you have to switch to the main menu in order
to tell PowerScheduler to sent the machine to sleep. You must not hibernate/standby the machine manually!

Have the idea for a simpler, more intuitive GUI for manual recordings for a long time already but never found the time to make the plugin.

Hi guys,

to be honest, I haven't seen the TV3 for myself yet so I currently don't have an idea how to connect the "TV Recordings" to this service. Anyway, I will find out and try to support TV3. But have to be patient since I want to add some more functions to the plugin first. Stay tuned.

I think it is awesome and works very well for me….

Presently because this displays as a Plug-In it makes using it difficult as you have to exit the My-TV screen to use it. It would be great if you can market this with some of the skin-developers so that they can include it on the my-tv screen as one of the selectable options, or even better to replace the existing "Scheduled" option.
