hmmm,
That sounds strange if status is IDLE and still some VLC is eating CPU. And you don't have any VLC players open? Do you have lot of recordings so that VLC might do that .ts -> mpeg4 conversion? In this latest version you can also avoid that in testing purposes, just ticking "no TS to mp4 conversion nor downlodable VOD service" ?? Can you add TV.log here if this does not help?? |

You guessed right, it was the ts > mpg4 conversion taking up CPU. It made a load of duff mp4 files though, those same recorded files working via the streaming player. Again I have a weak DVB-T signal and so it's likely there are errors causing this.
I tried putting a AVI renamed to TS into the recordings dir, and fooled it into letting me stream it. It worked! Some files however came out corrupted, even though they were fine in VLC. I'll see what I can find out there. Perhaps another suggestion could be the addition of a myvideos section? |

Idea in conversion is that some times you don't have network connection available and you want to watch you recordings, so then you can use this dowload method insteed of streaming method I found one good feature in Videocenter, Scheduled download, so you can mark to download some feed eg during night time, when you are @home in wlan area, and clips are downloaded to mobile during night time ![]() But if you want to use always streaming and you don't need mpeg4 clips you can now configure those out easily ![]() Adding files in different format to recording folders is also in my TO DO list, since some users has been asking possibility to use plugin until they don't have TV-card, they would like to stream eg. divx movies to phone Is that what you mean with "my videos"? |

Some suggestions/concerns:
- We need to be able to change the card setting on the top of the setting dialog. I haven't blocked my RadioWebStream Card and piiptv is selecting it, tough it has the TV Channels in the list. - Something is wrong with the internal HTTP Server, look at the picture, I only activate the plugin and clicked the config screen, it doesn't let me start the service - Some times appears a dialog that says "you didn't config the Temp and Recording folder" tough I did. hi,
Http server starts automatically when tv-service is running, so stopping-starting tv-service from windows services pane, does the trick. I think i can implement some improvements to http server, hopely already in next release ![]() |

hi,
PiipTV uses that same tv.log than tv-server uses. You can check that and try to find out reason. Have you tried those new RC1 SVN builds, does those help? since i haven't discovered that kind of problems that tv stops in 2-4min. Have your network setup changed? |

Hi
found time to test the plugin another time, because i like the idea of watching tv everywhere.. tried to update mp1 with the weekly updates, then found that you did another release (WOW) installed this, but i cant watch tv longer than 2-3 min. Here my log file: 2008-05-27 21:21:04.500000 [SetupTv]: PluginUi:ClickVlcTest() 2008-05-27 21:21:04.687500 [9]: HttpServer:HandleControl(), aRequest: HttpPluginTsUrl, aParam: 2008-05-27 21:21:09.968750 [6]: PluginUi:TimerElapsed(), Engine status: Service 2008-05-27 21:21:10.015625 [6]: Utils etSetting(), EngineStatus: NoActions2008-05-27 21:21:42.390625 [5]: >>> StreamEngine:TimerElapsed(), Hour: 21, interval: 40000 2008-05-27 21:21:42.484375 [5]: StreamEngine topSdpWatcher(), Stops it..2008-05-27 21:21:42.671875 [5]: StreamEngine:TimerElapsed(), Guide valid: False 2008-05-27 21:21:42.687500 [5]: >>> StreamEngine:ForceGuideUpdate(), useXmltv: False 2008-05-27 21:21:42.750000 [5]: StreamEngine:ForceGuideUpdate(), XMLTV use not active ! 2008-05-27 21:21:42.875000 [5]: StreamEngine tartTimer(), aInterval: 1800002008-05-27 21:21:42.875000 [5]: <<< StreamEngine:TimerElapsed() 2008-05-27 21:24:42.890625 [5]: >>> StreamEngine:TimerElapsed(), Hour: 21, interval: 180000 2008-05-27 21:24:42.953125 [5]: StreamEngine:TimerElapsed(), No streamers.. 2008-05-27 21:24:43.093750 [5]: StreamEngine:NoStreamers(), Sets engine to idle.. 2008-05-27 21:24:43.203125 [5]: StreamEngine:KillVlc(), Kills it.. 2008-05-27 21:25:03.734375 [PowerEventThread]: TV service PowerEventThread 49360 2008-05-27 21:25:03.750000 [PowerEventThread]: TV service PowerEventThread 49360 think problem is that vlc is killed....... But dont have much experience with stuff like this..... My pc is an old athlon 2600 with only 512 mb ram, and its running at 100 % (when streaming) but Stream is the 2 min long ok, so i dont think (hope) my pc is too old.... Bye cubii |

-New version 0.5.3.12 released! Release content: +some HTTP server (plugin) crashes fixed +now also scrambled channels are shown in piipTV UI channels list +Advanced settings UI introduced +advanced users can now modify, video width / height / audio codecs / video codecs parameters +users can now select aspect ratio between 4:3/16:9 +for error cases Full Logging indroduced +possibility to select only UDP -stream or only TCP -stream (default value is automatic detection) +Default parameters now changed from MPEG4 -> H264 AVC +Option to start PiipTV -service automatically always when Mediaportal TV-server is running +Bye packet not sent (from VLC) at the end of vod streaming (fixed) +VLC IDLE time before first stream is 1h, should be 3min (fixed) TIP: If you are using piipTV a lot with another PC (watching with VLC) we have observed that viewer VLC (0.8.6.f) might crash easily, reason seems to be used AAC -audio codec (bug in VLC AAC -codec). So from advanced settings you can change audio codec to mp3, that should help situation when using another PC. (but MP3 -audio +H264 AVC video might cause some turbulence in phone videocenter usage) For this reason you can also find PC button from advanced settings UI, there is also some default streaming settings for WLAN and 3G usage Cubii, can you try this brand new release 0.5.3.12? and see how is that running, it should have lot of nice fixes & features ![]() if you experied some issues with this new one, behind advanced settings there is full logging option, tick that and press apply and reproduce issue and send logs here or piiptv@japo.fi if issue is hard to reproduce, piiptv will always write some most important prints to tv.log. But of course full logs helps fixing ![]() Last edited by manniainen; 2008-05-27 at 20:47. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |
