Schedules Direct US/Canadian/Mexico EPG Plugin (Updated 10-01-2007)

Cant seem to get the plugin work. First it tells me my username and password are wrong but i can log into the website. Then it says I need to autotune. Any ideas??

Does anyone know why I can get schedule information for some channels but for others I get a "Could not find a match" error? This is on a fresh MP1 RC2 install after doing a new channel scan. All possible channels are listed in my server setup program and they're all displayed when I view my account on the SchedulesDirect website. If I view the Channels table in SQL Server Express the channels that get the error have a NULL externalId column. Thanks for any help, here is a snippet of my tv.log file:

Both of these would be a HUGE help to me, so any help with resolving these issues would be greatly appreciated.

Not really sure what you want but the schedule is set to update every day.
It requests a time to update from SD, if that is not reasonable it sets the next update time in 24 hours.
This helps with load balancing and helps with the set it and forget it

Not sure on the filemask. You said your mask asks for ep number??
The ep number from SD may not match what you want the ep number to be
IIRC, that field is optional and supplied by whoever provides the show information.
So it may not be populated, may be the absolute ep number of maybe season and ep numbers or production code or whatever.

1) Double-check you username and password.
2) Are you using any firewalls? Check for even windows firewall...
Just b/c you can log into SD with a web browser and firewall does not mean you will be to with another application and web services.

Try changing the setting to allow channel mapping w/o frequency.

Hey all,

I know this question has been asked before and I believe I have tried the suggested solution (delete all mapped channels + enable Sched Direct Plug-in to add channels). And I have tried the suggestion of "allow channel mapping w/o frequency" without success. It hasn't worked for me yet so I'm posting here. For reference, one of the channels I am trying to get to work is listed as follows in my program listing on the sched direct web site (http://www.schedulesdirect.org/lineups/report/PC:60641):

2, 20454, WBBMDT, WBBMDT (WBBM-DT)

When the plugin pulls from Schedules Direct, it seems to login correctly, but not be able to map back to or add to the channels in MP. I am going to post the log below so you can see all my options selected and the output. Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi chicago_pete!!!

Your broadcast is Local so I do not think it is recognized as Digital.
You have Add New Analog channels set to False so the channels will not be automatically added.

If you already have added your channels via auto-tune/scan then I would set the Allow channel matching w/o frequency to True.

First off thank you for all this info. I just installed the plugin and I'm using a HD PVR with DirectTV HR20...
I just had a simple question while I think I'm supposed to be waiting for that first hour....

If my log says "epg started" or something like that... It's doing it's job right now, right?

Thanks for the quick reply patrick. To clarify, "analog" in the options is synonymous with "over the air" even though they are digital (ATSC) broadcasts? And "digital" refers to channels received via Satellite or cable? If that is true, then everything would make more sense to me. Again, thanks much for your help!

Alright nevermind.

I've got all the channels for DirecTV showing and mapped to my Hauppauge HD PVR and now I went to pick a channel to watch, very excitedly... And it freezes MediaPortal.

Any idea as to why?

Thanks again for you help Patrick. The good news is that it did the scan and added the over the air (ATSC) HD channels when I selected "analog". Unfortunately after it added the channels, it gave the same "could not find match" error for all the channels. I also followed your instructions on "allowing channel mapping w/o frequency".

Can you or any explain what the plug in is trying to match to what? Does renaming or editing the channel in the MP help the plug in match to schedules direct? I'd be happy to edit all my channels manually to help the match process. Again, my listing is:

Hi Peter,

I am a little confused. You said it added the channels, then it could not find the channels???
You may need to delete all you channels, run the auto-tune in MP setup and then run this plugin.

The plugin does a couple things to try to find a match depending on the channel and lineup type.
The first thing is to match on the callsign (ex. WBBM), then on channel # with differences based
on frequency settings, lineup type and if it is detected as OTA digital.
