UitzendingGemist.nl problem

Marc (Zipperzip) has developed a new plugin called UitzendingGemist.nl. ( i think he has :-) ).

Purpose for this plugin is to integrate the functionality from www.uitzendinggemist.nl in MediaPortal.
www.uitzendinggemist.nl hosts the shows from 3 dutch television networks/channels. so you can view these shows over the internet.

This offcourse is a great idea, but i have a problem with this plugin...

I have only one problem... it doesn't work on my Mediaportal. I use the a relatively new SVN for RC4 ( 06-07-2006 10:48 ), and it didn't work with older versions as well. Mediaportal.log says it tries to load .asf files. But they almost never exist when i try them in WMP or on the website itself. When i change the extension to wmv it often does work (in WMP)!

Anybody having the same issue i have or am i the only one?

I'm looking for help, cause i'm am looking forward on using this plugin!

Just tryed a few episodes and they all worked for me. But you can be right, they are still changing the site and i read they want to step over to wmv.

Please post you log or post the some shows that do not work for you.

Thanks for your reaction. I will do this tonight, i am at work right now.

Not one episode runs in Mediaportal.
Some flip right back to the episodes screen, and some stay up for some time, but to nothing (screen stays black).

Everything else in MediaPortal is working perfectly (tv, radio, movies, music, trailers etc.)

I'll post some lines from vmr9.log, mediaportal.log and error.log tonight, there are some lines i saw yesterday that will probably help you.

For example i tried episode 5 from "Fok jou!' from genre "Serie/soep" this episode flipped richt back in MediaPortal .It tries to run http://cgi.omroep.nl/cgi-bin/streams...b.fokjou_5.asf, but the website source said: http://cgi.omroep.nl/cgi-bin/streams...b.fokjou_5.wmv.
The wmv dit work in WMP, but the asf didn't.

error.log said something like, couldn't render file > vmr9.

Maybe you could try it yourself perhaps?!?

you might try to open a video in the browser to store some settings, If you start a video for the first time, It wants to store some Player settings.

after doing that I had no problem anymore.

I am running it with the skin : MP360_4x3, just copied the XML files in the skin folder, works great.

and it works great, I use RC4 ( 06-07-2006 10:48 ),

I haven't tried this plugin yet, but it sounds very good!
Is it possible to extend this plugin to other sites with video? i.e Talpa.tv or rtlnieuws.nl ?

Hello,

My problem solved. Did a fresh MediaPortal installation and now the plugin works! though a few episodes still won't play, but those are probably caused by changes/differences on the www.uitzendinggemist.nl website.

Probably some settings or converted configuration caused that this plugin didn't play the episodes.
I ugraded (left my configuration) from 0.1.3 to 0.2 RC2,3, 4 lots of svn updates and something probably wasn't ok anymore.
So i thought i should definately try a fresh install and it worked!

Still, of course still a few things i'd like to see different (no vmr9?!?).
But as of now... I am totally happy :-)

Marc, i'd like to thank you for this great plugin and you're time for helping out with my problem!
