All,

Just a little update McGoober a I have pooled resource... he's working on adding some callbacks to the tswriter filter and the MHEG engine.

I've so far tested DSI/DII and DDB structs and parse methods, seem to be OK.
I've now started on the BIOP sections.

Still lots to do, but just thought I'd let you know that we're giving it our best crack.

Flipit.

Just an update since it has been a while.
Flipit and I have setup some source code control, to help maintain the project.

Flipit is working on DSM-CC messages to Object Carousel to File structure.
I'm working on grabbing the DSM-CC messages from the MPEG transport stream. Most of this has been trying to read documents and understand how the bloody thing works.

BTW. If anyone has access to the following documents I would be most greatful to get a copy.

ISO/IEC 13522 (MHEG Spec) (Yes, all the work so far has been without the very document we need)
ISO/IEC 13818-6 (Extentions for DSM-CC) (Yes, you would think we would have had this doc also)

It's amazing how far we have actually got without these.

Can anybody help ??

I don't have a TV card at present but I'm in the process of trying to test the DSMCC code. I need a UK DSMCC Download Data Block message in order to test the Deflate alogorythm needed to decompress the data blocks. Examples i have aren't compressed.

If anybody in the UK has DVB Snoop and could run a few logs of DSMCC messages containing compressed DDBs and post them or PM them to me it would help Mc Groober on our way to gettign this working...

Logs should look like this: http://dvbsnoop.sourceforge.net/exam...dsmcc-ddb.html

Thanks

Flipit

I'd be more than happy to do this but my tuner cards arent supported under linux and dvbsnoop can't access the cards in windows. If there are any other programs I can use to get the information then let me know and i'll do whatever I can.

I think DVBSnoop can be used to read DVB stream data from the file also, so no need for Linux support for your DVB card.

hmm, i've had a try but it complains that it is missing the demux device and there is nothing under /dev/dvb. If someone wants to give me a hand they'd be more than welcome! I'm using the latest knoppix build. Might try knoppmyth and see if I can get anything out of that.
