I'm using EVR (atleast it's checked on) and didn't notice this problem under Vista. All my 4:3 SD channels where scaled up to 16:9 nicely. But the HD channel is giving me a hard time... perhaps this will change then.

'Kanal 5 HD' seems to always send in 720p (resulting in huge black borders left/right on 4:3 shows), og so the debug log told me anyway. Any danes that can confirm/disconfirm?

Hi all.

Some time ago "spenca" submitted some interesting informations about a bug that makes it impossible to create a rule that does enable the letterbox detection without actually changing the zoom mode.

After a small reminder (thanks chemelli ) I was able to find some time to fix it (hopefully).
The fix makes it necessary to change something in the very core part of the plugin. Because of this I release the changed dll file here as a test release. So everyone who is interested to give me a better feeling can test this file with his configuration and report his results back here.

If we get positive result and this fix does not do any harm on other configurations, I will release this "officially".

Bye
Lars

Question

Hello,

I'm using your Plugin for some weeks and finaly I found the right Parameters/Rules (even I di it more intuitively...).

But one thing I'm missing:

Some Channels are transponding in 4:3 Format, but with a Messages/News Scrollbar at the bottom of the picture (N24 for example). If I manualy zoom to the Picture, the messages aren't visible.

But the viewmodeswitcher recognises it after a few seconds and switches back to 14:9 (as defined in the 4:3 rule).

Is it possible to add an option, that the Plugin ist suspended after a manualy change of viewmode (until the next channel changing)?

That would solve the "Problem".

Greetings

@Der_Bub. Can you please export your ViewModeSwitcher settings and post them here? Normally the plugin should not overwrite manually set zoom modes... Which version did you use? The test version here from the threat or the official one from the download repository?

Bye
Lars

well, I think it's the one from the first post of the thread (date 16.08.2008) . At configuration it shows V0.3 .

The settings are attached.

Hi!

Looks like a good plugin, but I have a couple of questions.

1. What if the broadcast is in 16:9 in 4:3 full frame? The picture should be stretched.
2. Is there available any file for the "import setting"?
3. How should I configure the plugin, when I have 1920x1080 resolution in my tv? I'd like to have always the original aspect ratio. So 4:3 should be with sidebars. And every other aspect ratio should be zoomed to fit the width.

Thanks!

I had the problem that a configured rule was never found to be matched although there was one which was 100% correct and suitable.
I found out that somehow in my setup the plugin doesn't detects the ar and therefore always fails to verify the ar part of the rule.
I made a quick hack in the sources to only check if the width and height match rule and don't care about the ar, which now works quite good
So if others also experience these kind of problems - a parameter like "don't care about ar in rules" would be nice
Attached is the diff file for the changes i made if your interested in it.
