My System

bug confrimed Can Not play dvr-ms files

Hi..

Let's see if we get this problem fixed. Since some month ago I can't watch dvr-ms files under MP..

these are the test that I have made
Build 16401 (mp and Tv3)
1 computer Vista Premium
2 compuert Vista Ultimate with sp1 beta
All same results.

with Tsfilter i get the same results but as "gibman" has told me I have made the logs with tsfilesource:
1.-With MS codec +evr = no sound no picture (logs attached)
2.- With MS codec - evr = no sound no picture (logs attached)
3.- With NVIDIA codec - evr = no sound no picture (logs attached)

I have attach a file with the logs and Manual Graph of the dvr-file

My conclusion are:
TsFileSource does not work either.. I thing that "decript" filter is not added on the graph and that is the problem.. If I open the dvr-ms file with graphedit it include the "decryp" filter but MP is not including as far as I see on the logs.

I think this is a real issue. don't you think?

Thanks for your answer and help

Yes, I can confirm this issue.

However, I don't think that it has anything to do with TVE3, as I am not using that module.

Something has been changed in MediaPortal in the last few weeks (I don't exactly know when) that means that ONLY .dvr-ms files recorded by MediaPortal can be played by MediaPortal.

Here is an easy way to reproduce the problem:-
1. Using TVE2, record a TV program (use scheduled record to get a complete .dvr-ms file, manual record will only produce useless .sbe files)

2. Verify that the resulting recording can be played back in MediaPortal

3. Using VideoReDoPlus, perform a "quickstream fix" on the above recording and output a "test.dvr-ms" file.

4. This new "test.dvr-ms" file will now NOT play in MediaPortal - neither in the TV section, nor the Videos section.

5. However, this new "test.dvr-ms" file will happily play in Windows MediaPlayer 11, or any other player that handles .dvr-ms files ....

6. Prior to a few weeks back, this "test.dvr-ms" file would also happily play in MediaPortal
A copy of my MediaPortal.log file is attached which demonstartes the steps above. The original recording was "Seven_Seabiscuit_200711022030p2517.dvr-ms" and the VideoReDo quickstream fix version was "Seabiscuit.dvr-ms".

MediaPortal will play "Seven_Seabiscuit_200711022030p2517.dvr-ms", but will not play the identical file "Seabiscuit.dvr-ms" ....

All my dvr-ms files plays w/o any problems in RC3. I don't have Mp11 installed tho and the Xp on it has not been patched since forever. (Don't touch anything that works ^^)

I have included a link to this thread in the Mantis report, so the developer that picks up this bug will see all of the history ...
