Changing from AC3 Channel to none AC3 Channel lets video and audio freeze

Hi,

steps I did to reproduce this:

1) Tune to a channel that provides AC3 (Pro 7 for example)
2) Choose AC3 audio (if you don't choose AC3, the channel change on 3) will work)
3) Tune to a channel that doesn't provide AC3 (RTL II for example)

-> 50% of the time audio and video freeze, the other 50% of the time it takes 5-10 seconds until the channel change is done (usually it takes 2-3)

The logs show a crash szenario and exactly the steps ive described above, even tho there seem to be more channel changes in the logs.
I'm using .ts files.

rtv said, he gets put back to the beginning of the timeshift buffer on point 3), I'm assuming hes using .mpg files.

i still have an issue going from any stations with ac3 to normal mpeg, or going from mpeg audio stations to ac3 audio, i have got the log here if this helps anyone figure out what the issue is. The server changes to the right station but no audio or video as it just freezes if i close the tv then reopen it its on the correct station.

any of the devs can see any problems with my log? it doesnt' stand out to me as being anything majorly wrong , just doesnt' change channels

I have the above issue as well.

In a nutshell the issue arises when changing channels with mpeg audio to channels with only AC3 audio.

In Australia as it turns out all the SD channels broadcast Mpeg audio. The only channels that broadcast AC3 audio are HD channels.

So, when changing from SD -> HD channel, the audio and video stops and never recovers. The channel never changes.

However, starting the tv stream on the HD channel right from the moment the tv stream is turned on, it works perfectly. Channel changes between HD channels works correctly as well.

What's the encoding of your HD channels? H.264?

No nothing special - just plain jane mpeg-2 encoded at higher res (either 576p, 720p or 1080i) and presumably at higher bit-rates than the SD 576i channels.
