Default I got inspired today!

Hey all,

I was reading through the forum today and got inspired to do some mock-ups for the TV section of Mediaportal.
Some of the things I mocked up include bits and bobs I've read about from others, so I take no real credit for this

My photoshop skills aren't amazing but i'll try and explain the screens;

Ok this first shot is obviously TV playing with the Now playing info box at the bottom (via the info button on an mce remote for example, and displayed for a few seconds when you switch channel)
The top part shows what could be used as a 'mini guide' allowing you to flip through listings while still watching tv.
The currently playing program is in green with a bar showing how far into the program it is, red shows programs that are due to record.
Yellow is for programs that have been marked as favourites so that you always notice them while 'channel hopping'
Blue is for programs that have no other status.

This image shows the guide, 8 channels are shown at a time and again color coded. I was too lazy to populate it with different data, so you will have to imagine they are different channels / shows
The current show is again marked in green to easily see whats on now, again marking how much of the program has run so far. If a channel / program is in the buffer (ie. can be time shifted) then the bar is marked in a red/orange color.

This screen shows tv while seeking through the timeshift buffer, the green bar shows where you are currently seeking to along with a thumbnail of that point in time.

Thats basically it, as I mentioned some of the ideas are spawned from other posts but I just wanted to visualise it

One last thing that would rock is if the shows marked in yellow on the guide (ie. the 'favourite' shows) could be shown at the home screen a day or two before they are on or maybe in a lower seperate section of the tv guide screen, showing upcoming favourite shows..

Very great!

It is much more clear than the basic Mediaportalgui for EPG and Timeshift!

While all the idea's seem great, if I had to choose, especially the thumbnail would be a great improvement to the UI

I do like the thumbnail idea, but what's wrong with the way MP currently seeks (i.e. fullscreen)? A thumbnail may be hard for people to see who have poor eyesight...

Good question to be honest
I think it would just look a little cleaner than having the full screen video 'jumping around' so to speak as you search back / forth, as this way you could simply find where you wanted to jump to (via the time bar & thumbnail) and then hit 'ok' or whatever on your remote to actually get it playing full screen.. just personal preference I guess.

Btw, thanks for the comments guys
