Hi,

@luksmann. I like the idea of "rotating" the TV guide. It would be like in most tv-magazines. They also have the channels at the topbar.

Flip.

BTW: Very nice concept i-loop!

I agree is more easy too see what is nunning now.
Most of us read from left to right so this is more natural to view programs by time...

Maybe slight color coding could be used to indicate free channels (red if the channel is not available) and or genres?

Also I use channel grouping alot, so for me, this should be very easy to select and change.
Maybe have a row of the availalable channel groups on the very top of the screen?

One small suggestion.
Currently in the miniEPG if no EPG info is available for a certain channel, "no EPG information available" is displayed for current and upcoming. It would be more concised if simply nothing is displayed if nothing is available.
IMHO this would raise readability.

Just my 2 cent.

Hi,
I raised that question/suggestion already in Support Forum, but I think this could also be the right place.

1) I noticed, that if you starting MP while a recording is running (single-seat, single tuner) and start MyTv, you get the error message "Timeshift could not be started...." because usually MP is not starting the channel (or transponder) where the recoring is running.
I would like to see that behavior (or a config option)

2) Also if you are watching a channel and MP starts a recording on a different channel, MP simply does nothing (or TV freezes). Here I would like MP to change automatically (if configured like that) to the recording channel.

This is actually no "design"feature in the way of look and feel, but i think it woudl surely "feel" better...

cheers
joystick

Sure?
Sometimes it's really questionalbe what users are complaining about
Then I have to live with it reading redundant information to find the information that's useful

I think to "rotate" the layout is somewhat problematic. To display a certain amount of channels the colums have to be rather small. Then you have to break up the titles of what's currently running into multiple lines degrading readability.
Also if you want to switch through the channels rapidly this currently can be done by page-up and page-down button, but you don't have page-left or page-right buttons on your remote.

IMHO the orientation in the current design is more economically on using space and is easier to navigate.

@infinityloop

Great design.
You wrote that the properties in the channel's property page are remembered for each channel. That will be great. What do you think about adding also the cropping to that list. Most channels use different overscan and in the future some (esp HD channels) will use none at all. Would be nice if this would also be saved on a per channel basis.

Regards,
grubi.

Hi there,

I don't know if this has been suggested before, but what about a section where you can choose movies - and it show all the movies on now, or coming up. Sorta like the "Sky" navigational system.

Thanks.

@infinitloop

Another suggestion would be to have an option on a per channel basis to delay audio. The devs of the Dreambox did a similar thing. The explanation is quite simple (if you know ).

The broadcaster send the AC3 audio track between 60 and 160 ms earlier than the picture (different providers choose different delays) to give the devices enough time for processing the AC3 signal. As receivers are not equal in processing speed you then have to delay audio again in your setup to get into sync again and not facing any lip sync issues. This seems also to be the cause for Mantis issue 0000737 which has been closed two weeks ago unresolved.

Further infos can be found here:

I like the idea of FullScreen Media at all time!
Like LinuxMCE has it too! It's just great.

Easy and all funktions can be reached by a few button-clicks

Keep on the good work infinity!
