if you play a DVD, then the |< and >| buttons are used for skip between chapters. same when you play a *.mkv which contains chapter informations. so you could only change the behaviour for these buttons in MyTV, which would then lead to confusion because in MyVideos and DVD these buttons wouldnt do the same action. so it should stay like it is atm: > ... playI hope i cleared that up ![]()

why not > ....play || ... pause >> ... small step Fwd (FFwd) << ... small step Backwd(Fast Back) >| ... big step fwd ...(next chapter in Vid and DVD) |< ... big step backwd...(prev. Chapter ") That way you could use the middle navigator for different purposes.

as far as i know, TVCentral is not useing "skip steps" as we do. the skipstep is not only "one" fixed amount of time as your "small / big" skipstep makes it look like. i.e. press "right" on your remote/keyboard once means "+15sec" press "right" 2 times and you go forward +30sec press "right" 5 times and you go forward 5minutes just watch the right part of your timeline when you press the <- -> keys on remote/keyboard to see the "skipstep time" which will be used once you stop pressing the direction key(s). so imo. it is not wise to change the behaviour. ![]()

But still I think skipping by the Remote-arrow keys is more consistent......just because you are doing it in Dvd and Video also. Nevertheless, I think the users should decide how they want to navigate, and if your way is the preferred way....that's alright with me ![]() cheers joystick

Country: | How about tilting the user interface a bit towards Wellton Ways style? That is, the numbers can be used as a shortcut, i.e. pressing "3" replaces "right"+"up"+"ok". "4" would replace "left"+"ok". http://www.welltonway.com/english/ The menu can still be navigated with arrows if the user prefers. The only problem is that a maximum of 9 or 12 menu points can be adressed this way (but we don't want more choices than that on a single screen anyway). Regards Seidelin |
