well this works already with the autostart plug-in, right?
But I agree, that you maybe should integrate this plugin in MP out of the box....

cheers joystick
Definitely agreed!

as in cul8ers design at:
http://forum.team-mediaportal.com/li...le-t26160.html

I like the idea of that the tv still runs in background (with some kind of fade) while you look at TV Guide, Recordings and so on.

TVStreams:
Maybe it would be possible to let the TV-Streams act like they would be a TVGroup.

TV-Subchannels:
maybe this would work to have subchannels to appear with an indent in the channels list.
BUT i am not sure if that is possible with our skinengine!!!!

This solution looks absolutely perfect to me.

i'm not shure i understand the difference for TV Channels and the TV-Stream channels...

As I understand it, TV-stream is a TV channel over the internet?

no.

as soon as your TV-Server tunes any channel, then it creates a RTSP Stream.

so if you have 1 server and i.e. 2 clients:
  1. client1 tunes the channel "RTL", then the tv-server creates an RTSP Stream, and the client starts to watch RTL
  2. now if you start your client2 PC and go to "Tv-Streams" you will find that stream for the TV-Channel "RTL" which you can connect to. cool thing is that if this is a movie, you can go all the way back to the start of the "buffer" and maybe watch the full movie from the start.

if your TV-Server is recording a show atm. then you will find that one too in the TV-Streams list.

this is very handy when you have "only" 1 or 2 TV-Cards, because when all cards are busy you maybe can not tune any other channel. with the TV-Streams list you can see what the server is doing atm. and connect to one of the streams if you want to.

i hope that cleared this confusion

@infinitiloop + all

We discussed that in another thread already, BUT...

It just happend to me yesterday that I recorded one channel (btw, I only have one tv card) and wanted to watch another one.
Now, I have ~120 channels in my miniepg.... (some say they have 1000 )can you imagine how long it took me to find the channel i could switch to, as far as i remember there were only 2 channels available out of 120, so even if there where 10, you'd still have to look for a considerable amount of time to find your "fitting" channel.
My solution was to only show the available channel, but infinityloop did not find this appropriate, so I do not have a real solution for that, but maybe one of you has....

cheers
joystick

[edit] infinityloop: we just posted parallel....

That would be really cool! Like integration of Onlinevideos and custom streams in the TV-part of MP. But I guess it has something to do with the TV-server.

imo. VideoStreams from the internet should be handled like Channels of a virtual "TV-Card" in the Tv-Server.
so these "internet Feeds" would appear as ordinary channel in MyTV.

but that would be something different, since it does not realy effect the Client side (MyTV).
