Wouldn't it be nice to show the timeshift buffer available in the stream-view with color coding for available/unavailable parts (feeble attempt to visualize attached)?

At this point you should consider tha one card may be working for more than one channel (in germany e.g. for pro7 and sat1 at the same time). I am quite sure you already thought about that, but if not now you have thought about it ^^

Sorry if this was already posted, I have not finished with this thread yet

Seidelin - I was thinking along those same lines when a channel was marked unavailable, that should have the same color as a channel/stream that is available. But it looks like you beat me to the punch. Good job! That helps the UI even more!

thats allready handled by the TV-Server

if you have i.e. one dvb card, ChannelA and ChannelB on the same transponder
and you tune ChannelA, then ChannelB is tagged as "available" where other channels on different transponders are tagged as "unavailable".

so TV-Server always indicates (allready) the correct "status" of a channel.

What I meant was, that the user should be aware, that if he takes Card B he may kill 2 jobs.
So what I am talking about is just a little design thing...

Maybe you understand what i mean when you look at my attachment, this represents basically also the "card-to-take"-screen. What you see is, that taking "card A" would drop one other job, while taking "card B" would drop 2 other jobs. In the currently presented design I can't see if one card is doing 2 different jobs.

Hope you understand what I mean, its no big thing but sometimes I am not able to express my thoughts shortly.

@i-loop:
Maybe you should replace the wording "card" with something like "slot".
Depending on your hardware you have a specific amount of slots available for the different types of signals (2 slots dvb-s, 1 slot dvb-t, 1 slot analogue etc.).
Of course the user should not have to know all this. He simply gets your dialog (depending on the signal type he wants to tune to) with a list of all busy "slots" and the opportunity to free one.

Bye
Lars

I guess word tuner would be more appropriate as some cards have 2 tuners. Slot, imo, will be interpreted to refer to the PCI slot or PCIe slot. So it's the same as card.
