That service sounds interesting, but way too complex for my needs. Why is it every single DVR software out there has a simple "record first runs only" yet MP can't? I really don't want to install SQL server, plus it sounds like it won't currently integrate with MP?

I think the service may sound complex since I gave a detailed description in the Development section of the forum, of all the inner workings and possibilities. For the end-user the aim is to make the GUI very simple, so you can indeed simply select to record premieres.

Just like TVEngine3 needs either SQL Express or MySQL, the scheduling service will need the same, so there's no real difference there.

In any case, like I said, it's work in progress, this is not something for next week, but on the other hand, it is being worked on...

PS: I had another look at the XMLTV spec and it seems I was mistaken, the premiere status is userd for something that is really a first-time showing on television. There is a previously-shown date from which we can derive whether a program is a first-run or a repeat. Could you check your XMLTV source to confirm that it has the <previously-shown> information?

Default TV Guide readability

I don't know if this is the right place, but I think there should be options to improve readability of the TV Guide.

We have a 43inch plasma, sitting on the wall 4-5 meters from the Sofa and we are almost unable to read the Guide, in the default skin. There should be a font size option, or maybe an option to show 2-3 fewer channels (lines) and then increase the text size for the programs.

I made an 8 line guide screen for Blue Two Wide a while back, which may be of some use - you can find it here:

The text size for the programme info is the same tho', so it may not help - let me know

Yes this is the one I was thinking about, espescially the bottom one. But just changing to 8 lines did a huge difference ... Might just try the font too, but this is goood for me
