my simple design ideas

This is still a bit of work in progress. I think simple is better, just need a few options added to bring it up to date with other pvr's.

The into page would have a live tv window, what was recorded last, what is to be recorded next and all the other menus. I would rather see a menu before I see the live TV, as opposed to opening in live TV.

I havnt thought much about the live tv, but I like I loops pics I have seen, and the mini on screen epg

The tv guide is pretty basic(I copied this mostly), recorded shows should be marked in red, and when you go to record a program from the guide it will give you the option of recording it just once, every time it is on, or the same time every week.

The next menu is the recordings menu. It will give you a list of what you have previously recorded, and what will be recorded later. On the previous recorded list when you click on a program it would give you the option of watching it now, burning the program to a DVD, moving it to your normal library, or deleting it. I havnt made any pics for the soon to be recorded list, but my ideas about this is similar to the previously recorded shows. When you have 2 or more programs set to record at the same time they should be marked in the list, maybe make them yellow(similarly to how I marked the recorded show red on the epg), and when you click on the program it should give you options to resolve the conflict. It should search for the program on at a different time, and present these options.

There needs to be some sort of search options, the one I have created would allow you to serch by programs name/description, actor, type, etc.

Another menu I havnt gotten around to designing yet is the settings menu. The settings menu should have all of the normal settings like size/zoom, closed captions, etc. I also believe it needs to have a favorites lists for many people. Person A could have their rooms TV set to their favorite list, but if they go to another TV then they should be able to switch to their list. I have red a bit about the different color buttons, and I am not too keen on this idea, but these buttons would make a nice way of changing the favorites list with in the epg.
