I think its okay to have Add Schedule in both TV Guide and in this.. Yes its a duplicate, but its easyer and faster.

When pushing the "Add schedule" button i think you should get to choices:
1. Add schedule through TV Guide
2. Add schedule by selecting channel, date and time (manualy)

example I have some channels, that doesnt have EPG, and I can't see any implementation fore this?

Thats what I meant above with the two ways we have currently with the search. One via MyTV->Search (only for channels with EPG), the other via MyTV->Schedules->New. There are then many options but not really working currently.
We should integrate both searches to one, from which everything works like:
1. Manual schedule (channel, date, time, repetition [daily, weekly, ...])
2. Schedule by search:
a) Title
b) Description
c) ...

i would also like a "redirection" to TV Guide, where I can select manual witchs program to record whitout search.
Example you don't know the name of the show, but only when it starts...
Then its easyer to look in the tv guide

Yes, sounds like good possibility.

It would be nice to be able to search on (partial) text. So put up some on-screen QWERTY keyboard so the user can enter some text using the remote. When he types "TOWE" for example he would see a list below the keyboard with programs like:

"Towering Inferno"
"Fawlty Towers"
"The History of the Towel"

With "Towe" highlighted or underlined or something. In a way a real-time filter on the program guide data.

I made a fast sketch of the search again. Hopefully you see what i want to do there. Its mostly based on the current way of searching via MyTV->Scheduled->New. This allows to search on partial text too.

I will add some others screen in a few minutes...

switch around the "Search by" and "Results"...

When you look at a screen you mostly look from left to right

Cool!

Perhaps we can make some room for a QWERTY keyboard? Or add T9 support to the SMS keyboard?

This is one area that needs to be user configurable. To allow a user to choose which input method is best for them to use. Afterall cellphones have that option!

before you scratch your head about a config-option for something which hasnt even been coded yet, you should find someone who is willing to do it

afaik mPod/rtv started to work on it a looooong time ago.....

btw. not everything needs to be a configureable option, or we and up in config-hell --> keep it simple

Just for info:

There are already two plugins that use a "sms" style text insertion based on the normal virtual keyboard that mp used. The plugin are the "global search" and my "wordmap". Take a look at post #62 in the worldmap thread (in my signature) if you interested how it works.

Bye
