Sounds good and I agree that we need to consider the input type of the different user types (remote, keyboard, mouse, touchscreen). It should work for all of them.
I am now sparing further sketches since you guys know what is the goal of the design and how it's supposed to work. And I am not very gifted on doing design stuff. So it would be great if a skinner could jump in and do some nice gfx based on my idea?

well...... how about working out and proposing a solution for that?

since you are a design team member, you should be able to get that done
the Idea of Muldini with a Menu on the button is nice, but i have a this:

look to the image (is not so nice, but i don't an artist).

i have select one off the Series-Recording, the upcoming Episodes are left on screen

when i now press "OK" (or automatic after a few seconds) the screen scrolls to the right and on the left side a option menu appears. the first upcoming Episode is now highlighted.
the new Button "Option" is selected

from this, i can with "up, down, left"-key chose an option. with the right-key i go back to the selection of Series.

on bottom is place for EPG, so users can see information about Episode of Series

The Idea of this is: no place on screen, put it sidewards
looks nice with smooth move

bye

I somehow like this concept, and it fits pretty well in the one that i-loop proposed.

What might be a improvement for the whole schedule section and might fit in here as well, is something like "suggested recordings". I miss something like that since The_Stig showed me the search function of the TVE3

That means when you i.e. search for a show that contains "Bruce Willis" in it's description, you will be ask if you want this query type to act as a suggestion...
... and everytime you enter the schedule section you will automatically see new shows that fit your interested and you are able to schedule them just by select them.

Bye
Lars

Yeah, but I guess we have to wait for a proper "advanced" scheduling system to see where/how this could fit into the concept?!?

BTW: I still would love to see someone taking over i-loops general suggestion with my scheduling concept...but i guess time will tell :-)

Default General scheduling

Hi all,

one thing I miss in the current scheduling possibilities of MP is, that I am not able to explicitly say "from - to".
Means If I would like to record a show that starts at 20:15 that's not a problem, but I can not say it stop's at 21:35 as I have to define a predefined timeframe of 90 minutes or whatever....

regards
Stefan
