Default iMON remote without iMON manager

Is it possible to use the iMON remote together with MP without using the iMON manager software?

Soundgraph claims their remote control is compatible with MCE remote.
I think this is a truth with a slight modification!?

If that was true you should be able to just click MCE remote in MP and then it works but that's not the case.

Anyone who has any ideas?

And I have additional question: Is it possible to use imon IR reciever together with original MCE remote (and vice versa - MCE IR reciever with Imon remote)? thx

You are NOT currently able to use any of the iMON remotes without using the iMON manager.

By MCE compatible, SoundgraPH MEANS THAT:
- The remote hardware that they claim is MCE compatible will receive commands from a MCE compatible remote control.
- their software provides an IMediaSink interface and will accept information from MS Media Center for display on their VFD/LCD displays.

Their hardware driver does not provide the interface required to make it work with Media Center, or any other software, that can use the device as an MCE compliant remote.

The key here is "MCE compatible"... The devices are MCE compatible... they are NOT "MCE Compliant" or "MCE Certified".

I use Imon remote and receiver without IMon software. I use Girder instead. I went through a phase of trying to reduce system resources and discovered that by using Girder instead of Imon I could cut it considerbly! Plus get rid of lots of annoying Imon features! My method may not be the most effective and I'm using a very old version of Girder (back from the days it was free!) - I'm sure there are other ways it can be done too.
