Default Making Basic Home and Regular Home the Same?

What I would like to do would be to completely disable the normal home screen, and always use basic home, even if the user hits the start button on the remote or the appropriate key on the keyboard, I don't wan't it to switch to normal home, but just keep, or reload basic home.
I am using the PMIII skin, I have tried just overwriting myHome.xml with BasicHome.xml, but when you hit the user hits the button to switch between home views, an error pops up saying "myHome.xml is invalid'.
Any ideas?

Ya, if you see my post above, I tried this but got an error. Any way to work around the error?

as a work around can you not get MP to start in home basic and then map the remote key to goto basic home instead of toggle home. Im sure i have done this in the past but cant check as my MP system is hosed and I have no time to fix it. sry :/

Thats because of the ID in the xml I think. But the idea of mapping to basic home only seems like a good one - if it works.
