Default Skin design question - transparent bar over cd covers?

I would like to place a transparent bar as a background for the Selecteditem text. I've got the CD covers spread over the entire screen but need to make the text more readable over the cover art. I've got the unfocused covers faded more than 50% transparent, so the focused cover really pops out on my crt TV.

I'll need to do the same thing for the DVD covers.

Which xml(s) do I add the control to, and what layer (before or after 'X' control)... um ... I'm using Purevision 4X3 as a base.

Thanks for any help.

Chuck

Perhaps a screenshot of what you've got and what you want may help

Hi PR...

Here's a mock up of the color bar under the Time and Item text.. um... a before and after. It's only a subtle change. the bar is snipped from the background image, so in list and filmstrip views it would be unnoticeable.

Thanks!

Chuck

Try this:

In your example (MyMusic) add your control after <import>common.facade.music.xml</import> in the mymusicsongs.xml. Also setting visibility to <visible>facadeview.SmallIcons|facadeview.LargeIco ns</visible> might be useful.

Here I have another time panel image on top of the icon view in Aeon

It may not be what you're after, let me know and I'll try something else...

Thanks!... that got me there... in a roundabout way... I'm not sure what finally got it to show... but it did.
