Default Trouble with Hover Images

I'm currently working on a Front Row-based skin (4:3, unlike the other currently in progress), but am having difficulties changing the Hover images.

Using a different file name for the png graphic, when I update the #header.hover: element of the repsective xml files (eg. mymusicgenres.xml), it does not change the graphic used on the home page. I assume there is another reference to it, but I have not come across it. Can anyone point me towards it?

Also, I have read about removing the .bxml and .png files for packedgfx, but when I do this (using the .2 final release), MediaPortal loads, but nothing displays on the desktop (no images are showing). In fact, it's entirely transparent, so it seems like it's not running, but it has the focus of the cursor. Any help here?

Thanks very much - I'm eagerly awaiting my new DVB-T and Video cards to take advantage of this great piece of software!

Tyson

Looks like you deleted a bit too much

packedgfx*.* is all you have to remove

Default Whoops

Yes, sorry for not being clear, but just the packedgfx files were all I deleted. There are three of them in my case:
packedgfx2.bxml
packedgfx20.png
packedgfx21.png

I noticed that some very small images I made are slotted in the packedgfx*.png files, but other, like my background, are not, yet the background shows up fine. The only images that are not displaying (and indeed displaying the wrong images altogether), are the hover images.

Are these hover images hardcoded, or dependent entirely on the #header.hover element in the respective xml files?

I can't comment on the other issue, sorry.

I just did the same here, deleted the 3 packedgfx files you mentioned. They get properly recreated and the skin is displayed as it should be. You can check that with a default skin (blue two).

For the rest an experienced skinner has to jump in here, I guess.

I also had this once, deleting the "fonts" directory in the skin directory should help. It will be recreated then.

HTH, Flip.

i have no new idea on the packedgfx issue, but why do u want to rename the hover images?
just replace the old ones and you wont have problems renaming them.

Default Got it working now...

I've sorted it out now.

There was obviously something wrong with something I coded at some point. I started again, and the rebuilding is working nicely. I'm just taking things slowly now, checking every second edit I make to ensure it still rebuilds.

Thanks for your help!
