I haven't posted in a while, but this interest me.
FlipGer.. why cant colors be generated the way you said. 8-12colors, but the genre-info collected from the tvguide.xml remain the same?
My suggestion is as follows.. you look for colors in the epg, and if you are looking for a movie look for "color-here". To check the genre/movie-type , hover it and the original genre shows.

Did this make sense to you?

Hi Lyxalig,

sure this makes sense, and I will give it a try.

What I fear / do not like:
- possible slow down of EPG
- no clear data integrety

What I like:
- it is much easier to implement

Hi Flip,

Has there been any further progress on this "Genre colours" exercise?

I am not meaning to be "pushy" ( ) - just wondering if I have missed something.......

Hi Taipan,

I am sorry, was not a good time for coding. Haven't found the time lately. But I haven't forgot!

TV Guide Genre colors doesn't work for me, although I have checked "Use colors for genres in the tvguide" in Setup. Any clues? I use skin PojectX

Hi, I can't get it to work either.
I tried rc2 without and with cvs, different skins.
I use o2grabber to create the .xml file.

Is the <category> line necessary? Some shows don't have it.

Could it be this category messing things up?
<category>Music &amp; Arts</category>

Is this correct xml?:
<desc lang="sv" />
