UK TV Logos (Freeview, FreeToAir, Analogue)

UK TV Logos (Subscription)

additions: Discovery Channel, MTV ONE U.K., MTV One Ireland

Thanks to wonkyd for the music logos (I tweaked B4U, Flava and Scuzz to bring them in from the button edge a bit).

I normally get the original logos by Google image search or Lynsat, some then need a rejig to fit the 100x100 format, occasionally I draw them. If the channel has a colour identity I use it for the template background, you need to go about 20% darker than the colour you actually want because of the way the gradient in the template background works. If there is no colour identity I use anything from light grey to black, but never lighter than #CCCCCC as you loose the '3Dness' of the background. I usually scale logos to no bigger than 92x92 before dropping them onto the template. I then use layer properties (mainly darken, lighten) to take out the edges, then tweak a bit to stop them looking too dull. You can get most of them to look OK by this method. For example Discovery Channel was done this way, but after the 'layer darken' it looked too dull so I went back and got the white hightlights from the globe and letters and brought them in as a 'layer normal' on top.

Thanks Triton, those tweaks you made look much better.

I've made a few more thumbs the other day, but I'm not happy with some of them just yet (Kix! & PopGirl). I'll try tweaking the settings like you suggest to try to make them look a little better. For now, the logos I made for ZoneRomantica and ZoneReality +1 look ok.

It already exists, don't forget radio logo's as well go in there own folder.
