I use a resolution of 1920x1080 and the TV Guide has got a strange behaviour. I've tested it with MePo green wide and blue two wide with the latest SVN.

There are appearing strange white rays from the top left corner. If I scroll down in the TV guide the rays change. The rays apper both in MePo green wide and blue two wide.

Here's what it looks like:

This bug only happens when you use exclusive mode. However, running in non-exclusive mode deteriorates the menu system gradually (adding dots all over the place).

I find it hard to think that this would be nVidias fault (since you'd think such an obvious bug would have shown in other places) and since it goes away with non-exclusive mode (to be replaced with something else) I'd venture a guess that somewhere the MP uses null or zero where it shouldn't. Which has a random behavior depending on driver, etc.

Also, it doesn't happen when not in fullscreen mode.

And after even some more investigation, it does NOT appear on the TV Guide until the TV Guide has completed it's rendering and all the text is visible. Likewise, when exiting the TV Guide, during the fade-out of text, everything looks ok.

This is why I find it hard to dismiss as a driver bug when clearly it works as intended, just not when the animations are completed.

Hi,
It is related to nvidia driver update & was there before animation was into MP, it has come & gone several times (with beta drivers), but this time it stayed.
I don't have it on systems which has a ATI graphic card, but maybe others have?

Regards
Roy

MrWorf

I have this problem with 2 of my pc's, running 7900GS + 6600GT, the third one with a 7100 cheapo card in has not got this problem, all using the latest drivers.

Wish i could find a solution, and it does not matter which DX selections made, it still occurs.

Working Driver version 81.98 after that it broke, so if your card supports that driver, then use it.

Some suggested installing an older driver (84.21). Tried it, but it did'nt solve the problem in my case. Reinstalled the latest (non beta) driver, and the problem seemd to be gone, but sometimes it's there again, not always - strange.

Seems somewhat that the white text (that shows the name of the program - and the description below) seems to get borked. Once it seemed like instead of half of the title text the rays were there. Thus could this be some problem with the text output?

Could this be related to a certain resolution/aspect ratio?

On my old setup with a gf ti4600 & 61.82 drivers and 720x576 screen res. this never happened.

Have been having a play changing the advanced Nvidia settings, using 93.71.

At first i just tried enabling a couple of disabled items, mipmaps etc, opening MP\TVGuide and checking for distorted graphics, before changing next item.

The one thing that consistantly changes the distortion is the ANTIALIASING setting.
Changed from application control to 8xS and the lightening flash seems to have gone.
Bugger if it was that simple to fix, because of the amount of time searching the internet for Nvidia problems.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed on this one as it has been so consistant, not actually seeing it there is unusual.
